Function for AUC?
Hello
Is there an easy way, i.e. a function in a package, to calculate the
area under the curve (AUC) for drug serum levels?
Thanks for any advice

Lattice on FreeBSD
Hi list
I tried to install package lattice on FreeBSD, but install.package()
does not seem to find it in the repositories, even trying different
mirrors. Could it be that lattice package is not available for
FreeBSD?

/etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem erased by OpenSuse's update mechanism
Hi,
this is not a genuine Dovecot bug, more a nuisance.
It applies to OpenSuse 13.2 but maybe also to other Linux's.
The standard installation of Dovecot (especially 10-ssl.conf) places the
certificate dovecot.pem in /etc/ssl/certs.
Sometimes during updates does OpenSuse renew all certificates in /etc/ssl/certs
and erases dovecot.pem. This blocks further access to the mailbox.

Samba PDC with LDAP, can't join Domain
I've installed a samba PDC with ldap database, but I can't join the
domain with my windows XP machines.
I populated the Database with smbldap-tools.
When I try to log in as Root in the log file is written:

/etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem erased by OpenSuse's update mechanism
This directory in later times is where more and more distros are
putting system wide server CA type certs, most distros are moving to
this path, so the package maintainer should fix their script, maybe to
/etc/ssl/private or such.

Conditional ploting with logical vector
Hi list
Maybe someone can help with the following problem (thanks in advance):
In a function I have a plot and want to add symbols/text only when
indicated by a logical vector (which was generated by the function
before, not manually like in the following example):
plot(1:10, 1:10)
lv <- c(T,T,T,F,F,F,T,T,T,F)
text(1:10, 1:10, '*', pos = 3)
In this example the asterisk is plotted at

Validating a mixed-effects model
Hi
I constructed a mixed-effects model from longitudinal repeated
measurements of lab values in 22 patients seperated into two groups
with the groups as fixed effect using lme. I thought about using the
jackknife procedure, i. e., removing any one subject and calculating
the fixed effect, to assess the stability of the fixed effect and
thereby validate the model. I suppose this has been done in

recycle: ... returned No such file or directory
Hi,
recently I see lots of logs like this. I figured, that many have umlaute
in their name - but not all. My local FS displays the umlaute correctly
- but it is not displayed correctly in the logfiles.
Also, when I browse through shares via Windows or MacOSx all files with
umlaute seem to be displayed correctly.

2x Samba4 Bugs - "mount error(5): Input/output error" & "recycle: stat for ... AFP_AfpInfo returned No such file or directory"
Hi
I'm using Samba version 4.1.7 on the server side. On the Client side is
multiple versions
- a copy machine Konica Minolta
- Windows XP
- Windows 7
- Mac OSx (Mavericks)
- CentOS (XenServer)
all of them get sporadic input output errors. E.g: on a Linux I would get a
mount error(5): Input/output error
after the first try. And as funny as it sounds, but the second try is a

segfault in embedded r after call to repldlldo1
Dear R developers,
i've got a question concerning an embedded R instance. I called the
initialization routines as seen in the "writing extensions" guide
(Rf_initialize, setup_Rmainloop and R_ReplDLLinit). I also changed the
function callback pointer of readconsole and writeconsoleex to my local
functions.
when i call mainloop there is no problem and the commands are evaluated

Samba4 CIFS proxy: NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
Hello,
I'm trying to use the cifs proxy vfs module in Samba4. I can join the
domain seemingly without problem. When trying to access the proxy
server (and hence its share) I get NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS.
My setup is as follows:
root@proxy# ./setup/provision --realm=<realm> --domain=<domain>
--adminpass=<adminpass> \

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS if Domain Controller is absent
I have my Samba 3.0.21c Linux Server as Domain member (security=ADS) so
that domain users can use the Samba Server as shared file server.
Everything works nice if the domain controller is present, e.g.

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
Hi,
I've been following the troubleshooting guide, but our situation is a
little different, so hopefully someone will be able to help out. :)
We've got three machines, a domain controller running samba 3.0.10 (OSX
10.3), a server running Win 2k3 server, and a client running samba
3.0.24 (Ubuntu). The problem we're having is trying to connect to the
Win 2k3 server from the samba

Samba, Win 2K3, domain trust and NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
I've configured a domain trust between Samba 3.5.6 and Windows 2003
Server Enterprise Edition SP2. It's a one way trust, Windows is the
trusted and Samba the trusting. I want to give access to my resources
in the Samba domain to the users in the Windows domain. The
configuration of the trust was fine (I think). The validation on the
window server says that it' s ok and the Windows

Where did you change this, in smb.conf or /etc/hosts ??
By default netbios name is adapted from the hostname.
If you changed the hostname you might have found the source of your problem.
