printers.... upload all the drivers.. for all the OS's... how do I tell

Archive attribute
Our tape backup software (run through windows) backs up items based on
whether the archive attribute is set or not. If it is set, then it needs to
be backed up. Then it removes the attribute. When a user modifies a file,
the attribute is again set. This is how it normally works. Samba will not
allow the Archive Attribute to be unchecked. Is there anyway to allow this
functionality.

OpenLDAP Administration for Samba3
I am looking for an LDAP client to manage the LDAP server that we are going
to use when we switch to samba3. A Windows variety would be OK, a web
interface would be even better. Just looking for suggestions to try.
Thanks,

Slow performance with QuickBooks
I have spent much of the day today researching performance tuning with
samba. I have tried everything that I can find out about how to make
performance faster. I checked disk performance with Bonnie, installed FTP
and tested a transfer that way, achieving 6-7 MB / second. about 30 seconds
for 150 MB file. I was finally able to achieve those speeds on a file
transfer to the server through

cupsaddsmb NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE
Hello,
I am using cups-1.1.19final-1.deb and samba-2.2.3a. When I was working
with cups-1.1.15 before, cupsaddsmb worked fine, but now with
cups-1.1.19 it gives me:

rpcclient and setdriver
Hello,
I'm trying to use rpcclient 'setdriver' as an unprivileged user; a
special lpadmin user with very limited rights has been created, and
ownership of the location of driver files (/home/PrintDrivers) given to him.
when executing the smbclient and rpc commands like cupsaddsmb does,
nearly everything works fine, except the last command:

rpcclient returns NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE on adddriver
Hi,
samba 2.2.8a freshly compiled
cups 1.1.19final-1 (debian)
while using cupsaddsmb, all runs well until adddriver, when rpcclient
returns a cryptic NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE. I've followed the
SambaPrintHowto 3.0 from 7.11.6.1 to 7.11.6.6, and it fails on the
latest as well.
Here is some more information.

rpcclient setdriver fails: WERR_INVALID_PRINTER_NAME
Hi all,
I have a similar problem as Patrik yesterday. So I can copy some lines, but
not all.
We have an SuSE 8.1 machine who acts as an printserver.
I'm sharing printers via Samba and using CUPS.
Samba is 2.2.7a and CUPS 1.1.8.
The Microsoft clients (Win9x, Win NT, Win 2k) is downloading the
driver from the server.
I had no problem to install and upload up to 2 printers but now I am

rpcclient enumdrivers enumprinters
Hi all,
i'm new to the list and here's my first question :
I'm trying to install several printer drivers on my samba server with
imprints. I did a package with the NT/2000 and W9x drivers and the
mkprintpkg command. Then I used the command install_printer_drivers.pl to
install the files in the appropriate directories. So now i'd like to check
the drivers available and the

AW: rpcclient setdriver fails: WERR_INVALID_PRINTER_NAME
Hi Kurt,
You are absolutely right (as always). After restarting smb, rpcclient
setdriver works fine.
May be - in the next future release - cupsaddsmb will work.
Thank you very much.

Samba+CUPS+Driver autodownload
Hi,
I'm trying to get Samba to offer the Adobe driver automatically for the
two printers I have set up with CUPS.
I have all of the necessary files plucked out of the Adobe Postscript

"cupsaddsmb -v ..." that the "rpcclient adddrivers" command always fails
with NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL. The drivers

Problems adding print drivers
Hey folks.
I am trying to set up a cups/samba printer server, and I am having trouble using cupsaddsmb.
I isolated the problem to a rpcclient and here is the information I gathered from the various commands.
If I delete all the files in "/var/lib/samba/drivers" cupsaddsmb installs the folders and files, but doesn't move the files in to the WIN40/0 folder with the adddriver

Hi All,
I downloaded a fresh cd (Debian 3.1) to install a Printserver with.
I've come to the bit that I can run cupsaddsmb, and expected it to
run smbclient to add the drivers to the print$ share, and then
rpcclient to do the "addriver" part and finaly the "setdriver" part.
Unfortunatly, it is doing only the setdriver part,

setdriver - Access Denied
Hi, I'm trying to follow through the printing howto and I'm having a bit
of a nightmare trying to use the rpcclient -c 'setdriver ...' utility.
I keep getting WERR_ACCESS_DENIED errors. I tried setting up a root user
with smbpasswd but I get NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE if I try to run
rpcclient with -U root. I think there must be something fundamental to
authentication that I
