reproducible ext3 corruption with sync option, 2.4.17, images available
I have been using ext3 filesystem from 2.4.17 kernel in the default
"ordered" mode on an 64 MB SanDisk compactflash. The disk itself was used on
NationalGeode embedded board.
The following entry was used in fstab (I know, may be stupid, but should not
crash the filesystem?)
/dev/hda1 / ext2 defaults,sync 1 1
After the board is switched off, it does not boot

redhat config file for kernel-2.4.17
Hi...
I am new to Linux (a few days), and I can't get to boot with a new
compiled kernel (2.4.17). I wonder if any one has a copy of a
successful config file? I get errors with regard to the number of
cpu's, ext3, journaling, and others... For now I am (naively) assuming
that I have a problem with a combination of settings in the config
file.)
Regards...
Miguel.

strange problem with 2.4.17 and htb
Hi,
Trying htb (latest patches from the page) with 2.4.17 I get:
RTNETLINK answers: File exists
iproute is 20010824 with the patch from the page.
The kernel module loads, but is not used:
sch_htb 12672 0 (unused)
Any ideas?

ext3-0.9.16 against linux-2.4.17-pre2
An ext3 update which also applies to linux-2.4.16 is available at
http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/ext3/
Quite a lot of miscellany here. It would be appreciated if interested
parties could please test it in preparation for sending upstream. Thanks.
Changelog:
- Merged several ext2 sync-up patches from Christoph Hellwig
- Drop the big kernel lock across the call to block_prepare_write.

Assertion failure in do_get_write_access() at transaction.c:609:
Hi all (and developers in particular)
I just got bitten by this Assertion. The one that starts as in the
subject, and ends with:
"!(((jh2bh(jh))->b_state & (1UL << BH_Lock)) != 0)"
Google reminds me that it was mentioned a few times earlier this year,
but I couldn't find any statement saying that it has been fixed.
I got this in a 2.4.16 kernel, though the
