Selecting a subset of a table with DRY
Hello,
I have table called ''listings.'' There are a certain combination of
properties which make a listing viewable (e.g., it is confirmed, has
been authorized, hasn''t expired, etc.). Each listing has one and only
one category.
I want to be able to do things like Listing.find_viewable(...) and
Category.find(...).viewable_listings, but I see no way to do this

Advanced printers shares
Hi
Here the problem. I am using samba 2.0.10 on sparc Solaris 8 platform in a
Nis env. Currently we have about 100 or so printers listed in printers.conf
nis map, these printers cover our 5 sites which all use the same nis env.
Each site has one Domain master, and a local master on any separate subnets,
as not all is in the same domain.
When ours users log into a samba server they are

OS X PDF bug (PR#13943)
par(mfrow=c(2,2))
y<-1:20
plot(y, pch="+")
plot(y, pch="+")
plot(y, pch="+")
plot(y, pch="+")
produces a pdf that is viewable in Preview (copied from the
clipboard) but fails to print.
pch default or ="." or =3 prints.
Unfortunately pch=3 doesn't fix the mfrow=c(5,6) graph that I'm
actually trying to print,
so the bug lies

Roaming Profiles Configuration
Hello all! I am new to the mailing lists, as well as Samba. I was looking
for an Active Directory alternative for linux, and finally landed on Samba4.
My installation is alpha12, installed via apt on Ubuntu 10.10. I am trying
to create roaming profiles, however, if "path = /UserData" then the profiles

file limits using SAMBA
Is there a limit to the number of files that can be seen through SAMBA
Shares. We currently have approximately 120,000 files (and growing)
under business related shares under our current Pathworks environment.
With being in the process of transferring over to SAMBA we need to
ensure that all the files are viewable.
It may be advisable to split these shares across several disks on our

[LLVMdev] llvm release criteria?
I noticed that llvm 2.2 is slated for release on
Feb. 4th of 2008. Do the llvm 2.2 releases mimic
those of FSF gcc by requiring no major regressions
for the release? For example, would Bug 1462
(CodeGen doesn't fully support i128) likely be
fixed for 2.2 (even though it as marked as priority 2)?
Also, how are the merges with the Apple GCC 4.2
branch handled? Are those done at some regular

GAM weights
Dear all,
we are trying to model some data from rare plants so we always have less than 50
1x1 km presences, and the total area is about 550.000 square km. So we have a
real problem, when we perform a GAM, if we consider only the same amount of
absences than presences.
We have thought to use a greater number of absences but in this case we shoud
downweight them.
Does anybody know how to use the

Using Modules
I have setup my application so that the "admin" area is a module
(app/worm/ -> admin area) and the "site" area is in the app/ folder.
When I try to submit a basic form to the database it says:
This error occured while loading the following files:
worm/in_your_classroom_link.rb
Which I think this means is that it is looking for a worm module in my
models folder. Why
