InnocuLAN incompatible with Samba?
Samba 2.0.5b on Linux 2.0.36. Innoculan virus scanner up-to-date on WinNT4SP3HU and WinNT4SP5HU. On access virus scan has been enabled on all files. (OK, I guess it shouldn't, but it works more- than-less with NT servers). There are zillions of problems (eg. oplock breaks (oplock is now disabled); the client and server having different ideas of what files are open; multiple connections from

samba4 and terminalserver licensing
Hi, I'm using three Windows Server 2012R1 (1x Terminalserver-License-Server+Citrix Studio, 2x Terminalserver-Sessionhosts+Citrix VDA) and a debian Server with samba4 running on. I used the following How-To: http://blog.virtualarchitect.nl/2014/01/how-to-configure-rds-2012-licensing-in-a-citrix-xendesktop-7-scenario/comment-page-1/#comment-24342 But the two Terminalserver-Sessionhosts are

AD Functional Level vs very old SaMBa member server
Will I really HAVE to use the idmap backends AD or RID? I was planning to use TDB2 with a script which I've already written: [root at fs3 samba]# ./idmap.sh IDTOSID UID 1301 SID:S-1-5-21-1632654815-303659134-1628659390-1950 [root at fs3 samba]# ./idmap.sh IDTOSID GID 198 SID:S-1-5-21-1632654815-303659134-1628659390-3247 [root at fs3 samba]# ./idmap.sh SIDTOID

Samba 2.2.8a PDC + OpenLDAP + W2k Terminalserver
Hi list, I am experiecing some problems with a Samba setup acting as a PDC for a customers network. I am not sure if this is actually a Samba/LDAP issue or if Windows is to blame here. I did a search on Google but I couldn't find anything answers. However, the problems I am experiencing are kind of weird. I joined all the Windows clients (NT4/W2K) and a Windows 2K terminalserver to the Samba

Administrator can no longer connect to member server after removing uidnumber from administrator
Hello list! Some of you may recall my recent semi-spamming of this wonderful list with questions about acl problems on a member server. It turns out that I should not have immediately assigned a UIDnumber to Administrator, nor a GIDNumber to Domain Admins. :( I have removed the NIS attributes for Administrator and Domain Admins in ADUC, and have not been able to login to the member server as

Win2k oplocks and you
Hello list! I've seen the threads in this months archives on oplock issues, so I hope I am not hitting a sore spot by bringing it up again. The reason I am beating on this is that I've got a testable, repeatable issue with Win2K terminal server (SP2) running CorelDRAW 10 (patched to current) against a Debian Woody box running Samba 2.2.3a-6 for Debian. Since I can repeatedly test the

Wheezy member Server - Unable to edit permissions of share without usermapping - shall I add to Wiki?
Hello List! I have a Samba AD domain with two virtualized DC's running 4.1.15 and 4.1.17. I have had two member file servers with odd permissions problems that I've now given up on, and decided to start fresh. I have created a File server (FS3) with Debian wheezy, built samba 4.1.17 from source, with configure options of : --with-ads --with-shared-modules=idmap_ad ... and placed the

Validate Ids Multiple DC
If you add the "not" supported winbind options from the member also to the DCs, then you will have the same resulting uid on all servers. Official not supported, but works now for more then a year here. ( sernet samba 4.2.7 on debian wheezy ) This is my addition to the smb.conf on the DC. ## map id's outside to domain to tdb files. idmap config * : backend = tdb

Samba as PDC, LDAP-based authentication for windows & linux clients
Hi There, we currently run a Windows Server 2003 Terminalserver and a NT4 PDC / File Server. Additional there is a server in the development unit acting as login server for the linux boxes. We now want to introduce a new file server and thereby replace the nt4 domain controller with a samba domain controller and consollidate it with the linux login server. I'm pretty sure it should be
