openldap authentication
I have an existing openldap schema which is handling mail, web and ftp services right now. I am trying to get a windows machine talking to the same filesystem as apache on linux via samba and read/write using the correct uid/gid. I was trying to shy away from using pam_ldap as there is no need to tie the user in ldap directly to the filesystem. The problem is it looks like the samba ldap module

strange permission denied problem
I built an embedded box which uses mount.cifs to mount network shares. I've shipped several of these and all are working fine except for one, which gives me permission denied on certain files: root@Mnemosyne:~/mnt/bgrp1/c/Ballance Group Folders/Scully/Client Photos-Scully# cat "Office Pics 002.jpg" > /dev/null cat: Office Pics 002.jpg: Permission denied

vectorize.enable
Hi Michael and Florian, ( + llvm-dev for visibility) I would like to quickly follow up on "Pragma vectorize_width() implies vectorize(enable)", which got reverted with commit 858a1ae for 2 reasons, see also that revert commit message. Ignore the assert, that's been fixed now. The other thing is that with the patch behaviour is slightly changed and we could get a diagnostic we

Problem with routing decisions, and multihop
Hi! I have many problems getting this thing to work. There''s a host with two network interfaces, where there are two routers to Internet in two separated networks. The host uses multihop routing for deciding to which router send the packets... but the routing decision is wrong made. Some packets with source address of one NIC, go to other network. I have a host with three NICs in it:

Trouble finding all smb shares on network
Hi, just joined the list and know very little about smb. I'm trying to do something that should be simple, but my current solution isn't working 100% All I need is a list of smb shares on the network. I'm doing this: /usr/bin/nmblookup -M -- - and then use this on each ip returned: /usr/bin/smbclient -g -p 139 -NL <ip addr> That works for most cases but it fails to find

Roaming profiles errors and shares not disconnecting
Hi, We are using Samba 3.0.22 on FreeBSD 5.5 PDC with ldap backend and roaming profiles. We meet some difficulties when users logout from some Windows 2000 SP4 clients, and storing their profiles back to the Samba server. The file NTUSER.DAT seems to be uploaded and stored in lowercase, as ntuser.dat. Then, when users try to reopen a win session, they get a corrupted new profile. This new

[Bridge] Bridging between user processes
Hi, What is the easiest way to bridge between two user-space processes that talk directly to Ethernet interfaces? I have two applications that write/read Ethernet frames to/from Linux Ethernet ports (e.g. eth0). The applications can successfully talk to each other when they run on two machines connected over Ethernet. I would like to be able to test them on a single machine without employing

Proposal for function vectorization and loop vectorization with function calls
Proposal for function vectorization and loop vectorization with function calls ============================================================================== Intel Corporation (3/2/2016) This is a proposal for an initial work towards Clang and LLVM implementation of vectorizing a function annotated with OpenMP 4.5's "#pragma omp declare simd" (named SIMD-enabled function) and its

Proposal for function vectorization and loop vectorization with function calls
Hi Michael. Thank for your feedback and questions/comments. See below. >>>>>I think it should be possible to vectorize such loop even without openmp clauses. We just need to gather a vector value from several scalar calls, and vectorizer already knows how to do that, we just need not to bail out early. Dealing with calls is tricky, but in this case we have the pragma, so we can

[6.0.0 Release] Release Candidate 1 tagged
Dear testers, Start your engines; 6.0.0-rc1 was just tagged. I know there are still open blockers and it's early in the process in a way, but I'd like to find out where we are. Please run the test script, let me know the results, and upload binaries. Thanks, Hans

RFC: Implementing the Swift calling convention in LLVM and Clang
