Improper directory removal causes file system havoc (PR#11738)
Full_Name: Michael Bauer
Version: 2.7.0
OS: Solaris 10 (sparc)
Submission from: (NULL) (130.64.21.7)
When running 'make check' on a fresh R 2.7.0 build on Solaris 10 (sparc),
reg-tests-1.R fails consistently because the test directory /tmp/R<random>
cannot be deleted. The reason for the deletion failure is because the file
system thinks that the directory is still full, as its

Improper directory removal causes file system havoc (PR#11747)
This is not general on Solaris 10 -- it works for others, as the R-admin
manual told you.
What sort of file system is the test being run on?
It does look very like a Solaris file system bug.

[LLVMdev] assert when mixing static and non-static members with an external AST source
FYI, this turned out to be an error of omission in LLDB in SymbolFileDWARF, because the case of a non-defining external (i.e. a static member variable) wasn't being handled with a variable lookup to dig up the location. I'll put a patch together for lldb-commits,

WEBrick access from other computer
Here''s a strange one. I''m getting into Rails and have installed Ruby and
RoR onto a Linux box for testing (Ubuntu). It all seems to work while
I''m on the linux machine. Using WEBrick I can go to the page and see my
test page.
But I want not have to sit at the linux box to play around, so I tried
accessing the WEBrick server from another system on my network and it

saving from word & excel
hi,
we're using a samba-server over DSL using openVPN and the speed is very
good at browsing directories and quite OK at loading/saving files except
for word & excel where it takes about 20-30 seconds to save even a small
file.
which is no wonder because the following happens in log.smbd when i click
"save" in word, it obviously checks for a bazillion tmp- and lockfiles (

Question regarding ''tidy'' type
Hello all,
I am trying to use the tidy type to clean up a directory that I use for
running scripts via puppet. My relevant manifest looks like:
tidy { "/root/.puppet/" :
age => ''30D'',
path => ''/root/.puppet/'',
recurse => true,
rmdirs => true,
type => atime,
}
However, when I run puppet it

[LLVMdev] assert when mixing static and non-static members with an external AST source
So, when performing expression evaluation, lldb trips over an assert in clang/lib/AST/RecordLayoutBuilder because ExternalFieldOffsets doesn't contain a FieldDecl that updateExternalFieldOffset expected. I found that the assert occurs when both static and non-static member variables are present. For instance, with the following, the lldb command 'expr my_test.length()' does not

The exclude option of Rsync not work right.
Hello,
Can someone explain why my exclude option is not excluding filles as
instructed in my script below.
I have tried multiple methods and still have been unsuccessful in
excluding the one file "test.sql".
The methods I have tried are:
1. Removing EXTRAFLAG variable -a
2. Removing using -a
3. Option --include infront of --exclude and behind of --exclude.
4. rsync /software/testdir/

ZFS & small files
First - many, many congrats to team ZFS. Developing/writing a new Unix fs
is a very non-trivial exercise with zero tolerance for developer bugs.
I just loaded build 27a on a w1100z with a single AMD 150 CPU (2Gb RAM) and
a single (for now) SCSI disk drive: FUJITSU MAP3367NP (Revision: 0108)
hooked up to the built-in SCSI controller (the only device on the SCSI
bus).
My initial ZFS test was to

3.6.5: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED from Win7 to 750 dir
Hello,
after upgrading from Samba 3.5.6 to 3.6.5 I encounter some strange
NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED trouble when trying to access group readable
directories from Windows 7 or Windows 2008 Terminal Server.
Very strange stuff is that it works fine using smbclient from a Linux
machine using the same userid and Kerberos authentication.
The Server is fully integrated into active directory and uses

Gluster clients can't see directories that exist or are created within a mounted volume, but can enter them.
Hi,
Please provide the gluster volume info. Do you see any errors in the client
mount log file (/var/log/glusterfs/var-lib-mountedgluster.log)?
Thanks,

Gluster clients can't see directories that exist or are created within a mounted volume, but can enter them.
We've got an issue with Gluster (3.12.x) where clients can't see directories that exist or are created within a mounted volume.
We can see files, but not directories (with ls, find etc...)
We can enter (cd) into directories, even if we can't see them.
- Host typology is: 2 replica, 1 arbiter.
- Volumes are: replicated and running on XFS on the hosts.
- Clients are: GlusterFS native

Samba 3.0.33 ACL rename/delete issue
Hello,
I have noticed some ALC issues with files and directories. I use samba
server 3.0.33 on CentOS 4.8 joined to Windows 2003 domain. Everything
works fine, all users are authenticated to domain controller. My aim is
to give FULL ACCESS (open/read/write/rename/delete..) to directory
"testdir" to two users, john and mark without using groups because I
have no permissions on domain
