Cannot add Domain Groups to Local Groups (D Users OK)
I have searched the globe but alas I can't come up with a solution. I am running Debian 3.0r0 with samba 2.2.3a12-3 (or something around there) and Kernel 2.4.18. Basically I am trying to add a Domain Group to a Local Group, but when I do I get an error (From Windows 2000): "A member could not be added to or removed from the local group because the member does not exist"

Alls I ever get is "Your computer account was not found or the password is incorrect" I even tried rejoining the domain which works. I leave the domain and then rejoin it, it takes a LONG time (might just be

More files randomly corrupted
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Still having that problem with samba seemingly corrupting files, it seems to be the same files that are corrupted again and again, yet they are corrupted differently and sometimes not. I ran my md5 summer against one file ch02.pdf, and it almost contineously corrupts, I checked in a hex editor and there are some differences. Yet the problem is that

NT4 Workstation and Win9x I have working fine - where have I gone wrong ? Linux SETUP: RedHat 7.3, samba-2.2.7-3.7.3 (upgraded from 2.2.3a) Win2k SETUP: Win 2000 Pro,

NT and XP clients cannot reach Samba PDC
When attempting to join my domain, the NT 4 Workstation and XP Pro clients cannot contact the domain controller. The Samba server is running normally, and can be connected to via IP address, but not by name. Additionally, when I set up a DNS, it still could not contact the Samba server. The clients and server are on the same subnet. I have read as much as I could find on configuring Samba as a

Cannot join NT 4.0 Client to Samba3.0a21 PDC
Hello, I have successfully migrated an existing NT domain of about 30 users and 50 machines (mainly NT + W2K) to a Samba 2.2.7a PDC. I used the IDEALX Samba-PDC-Howto as a basis, using SSL and LDAP as the authentication mechanism. Because of problems with NT groups, I decided to try Samba 3.0, so I downloaded and built Samba-3.0alpha21, using the RPM Spec below. Using the same smb.conf that

Samba 3.0: Cannot alter user settings with pdbedit
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 After a failed migrate from NT4 to Samba 3.0 using the rpc vampire method I decided I'd do it manually with 'net rpc samdump'. Well it sort of worked, except I can't edit any of the users settings, it might just be me, but it should modify the profile to that, just as a test but it doesn't. I'd actually like to get rid of the

Include= is being ignored
I have the following Problem, include doesn't seem to work very well, its VERY intermitantly. The files are attached below along with an smbclient output. Basically I am setting up a PUBLIC share, that if I connect to will give me admin access. It contains service packs and fixes, so when I install someones system, they can just click and connect, without being prompted for a password.

You and all of the team members make a great job! ... we will see us in Goettingen!

NT, 2000, and XP can print - 9x can't!
I work exclusively in the area of small LANS (5-10 machines max) where security is not a major issue. Therefore I have always created simple smb.conf files with share based security. I am also a newbee to Linux - most of my experience has been with SAMBA. Re: My current problem, I have set up the system with both open and root only shares. All clients can view and write to the open folder

Has anybody been able to get it to work. I would love to see a real live example of sheetAsMatrix I am not sure how to specify sheet and con = sheet@connection. I have tried many ways but just get: Error in !includeEmpty : invalid
