printconf
Does anyone know of a command line tool for printer configuration for CentOS 5.
I have used "printconf-tui --Xexport > printers.xml" to copy my printer setup in CentOS 4.x
(then Ximport to bring it back), but this no longer works in CentOS 5 and I would really
like to retain this functionality.
Can I re-install this tool or will it not work with the new CUPS?
Is there an

linuxthreads & Printers in Centos5...
Dear All,
Firstly, many thanks for the hard work put in by the development team :)
Now I have a couple of problems, any help welcome:
1) Some of our software needs linuxthreads (i.e. InsightII) but it's closed
source and the writers (Accelrys) are unlikely to respin the code as they
want us to move to a different program.
Is there any way of installing another set of glibc libs on centos

Replication on v2.2.6 - I'm stuck (again)
Hi,
I'm trying to get Dovecot replication working between two servers. I
didn't have much luck on v2.1.3, so after receiving advice from the list I
have upgraded to v2.2.6.
I now get the error:

lookup failed
Oct 30 11:50:16 server2 dovecot: doveadm(mark): Error: sync:

Print share using hpoj.
Hello all.
The set up: - Kernel 2.4.18-3
- HP Office Jet K80.
- USB port
- hpoj-0.8 driver
I've been struggling installing and configuring the new driver for Linux/USB printing, due to a couple of silly mistakes.
The question here is are there any differences in setting up a print server using this new driver than the usual

Samba and Cups.
Listers,
I encountered a problem with samba (2.2.7a) when I was setting CUPS (1.1.14)
up.
I set it up through the web interface, setting the appropriate values in
smb.conf:
[global]
<snip>
printing = cups
load printers = yes
printcap name = cups
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
browseable = no
public = yes

Linux SO_REUSEPORT
I just read about Linux v3.9's SO_REUSEPORT feature and decided to implement it for Dovecot. Would be interesting to know how it works for people :) It's going to be in v2.2.6, which I'm planning on releasing tomorrow. Note especially the warning about the bug:
http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot-2.2/rev/a991a0547daa
So the idea is that you'd do something like:

WirelessIP5000 SIP registration problem
I have a Hitachi WirelessIP5000 phone (the original 1st gen hardware). It's
running the latest firmware (v2.2.6) and my Asterisk server is running
1.2.10. This setup has been working great for me for a long time, and then
last week I started having a problem where the Hitachi phone loses
registration. It registers fine when I first power it on, but at some point
later the display shows

Function address causes a protection fault.
Hello all.
I'm using a HP Office Jet K80 on a RedHat 7.3, kernel 2.4.18-3, using the USB port and Samba 2.2.3a. I've installed the new driver to support usb printing, namely HPOJ-0.80. I can use lpr <filenames with.ps> and it prints fine, also a test page from printconf-tui is no problem. So the Linux side seems to be fine. When I try set up the printer on the windows machine, I

Printing to XP printer
I am having a bit of a problem getting my Samba printer configuration to
work with Windows XP(I am running samba on Linux Redhat 7.3). My other
shares seem to work as I can find my files on the my Linux system using XP.
I have used redhat 7.3 kde printer configurations to create the appropriate
files. The result is when I try to send a print job the printer kicks into
to gear but only a blank

Dear SAmba
Sorry to trouble you again but here is my problem.
I want to have a directory writeable only for users in a unix group
"accounts"
so i need to do two things.
1. Create the group and user in linux
2. Create the relevant masks for the samba share for this directory
so i do this:
1 # mkdir /dev/accounts
2. # chgrp accounts /dev/accounts
3. # chmod 0770 /dev/accounts

File locking problems - v2.2.6
Hi,
I have been going crazy over the last few weeks trying to install a new
Samba server (using v2.2.1, v2.2.5 and v2.2.6) to replace a old system.
Problem seems to be with file locking on the new server - works
perfectly on old server!!
Attached are configuration files for Samba for old (smb205.conf) and new
(smb226.conf) servers, plus the source of a Cobol test program
(samtest.cbl) that

PXELINUX 6.03 / vesamenu.c32 hang
Hello,
I'm experiencing an issue where if I use vesamenu.c32 with PXELINUX 6.03 when network booting a virtual machine hosted on VMware ESXi 6.0, it hangs (the version message is printed and then nothing - the VM has to be powered off and back on again).
This happens no matter if I choose the E1000 network interface or the VMXNET3 network interface when creating the VM.

Printing problem with CUPS and lp/lpr
I know that printing on Linux is somewhat of an art form, but I have
a fairly simple problem. I used the following command to configure a
networked printer (HP LaserJet 8150):
lpadmin -p name -E -v socket://name -m laserjet.ppd -u allow:all -
u deny:none
This added and enabled the printer, and I can print to it using the
print command from within a GUI application and PostScript

Printing with Samba 2.2.5 and lprng
Hello,
Excuse me for my English.
I use an impression (not yet;) and file server samba 2.2.5 on a red hat 7.2.
I try to print starting from a station under Windows 2000 but I obtain the error "the handle is invalid".
I installed the drivers for my impimante on the W2000 station but I would like to also know if the drivers of the printer are necessary for the W2000 workstation AND

Released Pigeonhole v0.4.2 for Dovecot v2.2.6 and Pigeonhole v0.3.6 for Dovecot v2.1.17.
Hello Dovecot users,
Now that Dovecot v2.2.6 is released, I can release a new Pigeonhole. Due
to the SO_REUSEPORT changes in Dovecot, this Pigeonhole release will not
compile cleanly against older Dovecot releases.
This release is mainly about bugfixes. I also made a new release for
Dovecot v2.1.17 that includes most of these fixes and some older ones.

job fails to print via samba 2.2.6-pre1 - lpd ASCII a nd postscript test works fine...
Ah, it appears that I have confused myself...
I indeed have ALL of the queues defined as JetDirect with the model
specific driver selected in printconf.
With this combination I am telling linux to modify the job [via the filter]
and then pass it as a RAW [jetdirect] where I SHOULD just have the queue
define as JetDirect with a RAW as the driver and let the job go as
transmitted by the client
