Adding printer stops with "Operation could not be com pleted"
Tor,
For what it's worth I finally got the "Add Printer" wizard working with
Samba 2.2.6 at the Unix end and Windows NT as the client. But it was a hell
of a struggle! Don't know if it works with Samba 2.2.5 and/or Windows XP.
BTW I don't see an "add printer command" in your smb.conf extract - don't
you need that?

Printer Installation Issues on Win XP (Samba 3.0.10 as PDC)
Hi,
would be happy if somebody might help me with the following problem:
I installed Samba as the Primary DC -- works perfectly, XP clients can
join the domain, access the shares ...
The domain users's primary group is the "users" Unix group.
root is member of the "ntadmins" Unix group.
Mapped the Unix groups to NT groups as follows:

Samba4 CUPS: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED opening remote file
I'm setting up cups printing with Samba 4.0.5.
I downloaded both the windows drivers and the postscript drivers and put them into /usr/share/cups/drivers/.
I configured cups through the web interface. Created a printer and printed a test page.
I edited smb.conf and put in the necessary entries for cups printing:
[global]
...
load printers = yes

install_printer_drivers.pl and 2.2.4 issues
Hello -
I've been working on getting ready to cut our 60+ Samba servers over
from the old style printers.def approach to the new printer drivers
databases. However, I'm have a hard time uploading the packages onto the
server using the install_printer_drivers.pl script from Imprints 0.0.9b.
To make sure I wasn't packaging them wrong I used the
imprints.sourceforge.org server to get

Printer Queue control
I am setting up samba as a print server on a FreeBSD machine. I would
like the users to be able to control the print queue by using the Pause
option in Windows NT. It seems that I have a permission problem doing
this though.

Samba4 - Printer Drivers install fails
Hi,
I have a question about printer drivers management in Samba4 (Samba
version 4.7.6, Ubuntu 18)
I use MMC to add new drivers to an existing cups printers, and some of
them are simply refused.
I know the samba4/cups server is operationnal as i'm able to add new
printers or drivers to it through MMC.
I guess it's not a permission problem on the server as i perform the
operation as

How the program spoolss works ?
Hai,
There is a small bug in the directories.
Verify this:
[print$]
comment = Printer Drivers
path = /var/lib/samba/printers
Check if you see these folders in /var/lib/samba/printers
color IA64 W32ALPHA W32MIPS W32PPC W32X86 WIN40 x64
Most probley you need to :
rmdir var/lib/samba/printers/COLOR
mkdir var/lib/samba/printers/color
And restart samba
Lets start there, if

No, COLOR is the wrong one.

Can't add printer drivers.
I am having quite some difficulty adding printer drivers to the print$ share of my Linux box. Here are the details:
Debian Gnu/Linux with kernel 2.4.18 on a Sun Ultra 2. Samba version 2.2.3a. CUPS version 1.1.19. I am following along in the
printer_driver2.txt file. Here are the relevant lines of my smb.conf:

username map = /etc/samba/user.map
workgroup = CDE

CUPS not rendering documents via Samba
Hi guys, any CUPS / Samba experts out there?
The CUPS printing guide is a horrendous maze of options. I've got
nearly there but I've got
one thing wrong and I don't know where to look.
I set up our two printers (HP K5400s) using the GUI printer tool. Both
print the test page just fine.
I set up the [printers] and [print$] shares and can browse to the
printers from Windows (XP for me)
