After trying to get WinXP (Pro) to try and find my domain so I can log on I've finally done it, but now when I try and join my WinXP client to the domain, windows asks me to enter the username and password of an account with permission to join the domain. I now have a machine configured as a domain controller authenticating all windows users via openLDAP. openLDAP is also authenticating all of our linux users. The documentation provides tons of information about smbadduser and smbpasswd except *how to use it.* Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm having some trouble adding machine names to Samba. I've added a user under linux for the machines that I need and they have a $ entry at the end of them.
