Controlling use of roaming profiles
We are using a system running Red Hat Linux 7.0 with Samba 2.2.7a as our PDC. For the most part, we want to use roaming profiles, so that users' settings are backed up via the PDC, and are available if they need to change or reinstall their Windows desktop machine. However, there are a few Windows systems (running NT 4.0 or Windows 2000) for which we would like to be able to disable roaming

Samba 3 and Windows 2000 (SP4) Terminal Server
Hello, at this time we're using s. 2.2.8a (running on SuSE-Linux StandardServer 8 - Kernel 2.4.21) as fileserver for our terminal server environment. We ran into the 128 connections per client limitation and had to modify the MAX_CONNECTIONS-parameter in smbd/conn.c. Now we're planning the migration from s. 2.2.8a to s. 3.0.1. Is the modification in smbd/conn.c still necessary, when using

Samba and Terminal Server Whitepaper
Attached is a 500KB read-only .doc file with a Samba and Terminal Server whitepaper. I have tried to hit every known issue and all available workarounds. If anyone has comments or suggestions, let me know. JT has it, so it should end up in the next How-To. Sorry about the file format, but the .pdf was 2.5MB, which I thought was too big to post. win95 + linux oplock error, even with kernel oplocks = no.
Hi all, I've posted a similar message a few weeks ago. I had the 'oplock' problem. I run a linux server with samba (specification below). I get a reply who told me to disable kernel oplocks and oplocks. I did exactly what he told me to do. I hoped it worked... but it did not... From there one i started reading in the archives and followed the 'lock' discussions in this list.

No, we can use that, because I want to use the com32 module, in this case I want to use the chain.c32 to boot to Winpe. Wildcard X100P Suport
Is the Wildcard X100P still supported? I have one sitting around that I bought 3+ years ago and never used it. I need the functionality now. Before I run off and buy something new, I'm curious if this will "just work". I also have an old TDM400P with 2 FXS modules that I bought at the same time. Then, there was no FXO module for the 400P. Will a TDM400P this old support a

Metadata suport for public mailboxes
I'm using the latest version of dovecot (2.2.15) and I was trying to use a public namespace with metadata; I've found that it works for the users with enough permissions to set the metadata, but the values are set per user, that is, each user has its own metadata and does not see the values set by others. That sounds OK, as my mail_attribute_dict is configured as follows:
