HELP: Dose G.729 with IPP only worked on Intel CPU?
Hi, ALL: I install IPP(l_ipp_ia32_itanium_p_4_1_2.tar) and download the speech codeing (l_ipp-sample-speech-coding_p_4.1.008.tgz) then patch it (g729-041103.diff). My CPU is Centaur VIA Nehemiah with 998.715 MHz processor not INTEL CPU. I choose PIII as its CPU type when I modify Makefile under "G729-float". # For PIII OPTIMIZE= -O6 -mcpu=pentium3 -march=pentium3 -ffast-math

OT - Intel IPP 5.3
Hello, For education purpose, I would like to add G729 support to an Asterisk 1.4.19.1 system. I've read this : http://www.readytechnology.co.uk/open/ipp-codecs-g729-g723.1/ but when downloading Intel IPP software, it appears that latest IPP version is 5.3. As installation instructions here ( http://www.readytechnology.co.uk/open/ipp-codecs-g729-g723.1/doc-svn8.txt) relates to Intel IPP

HELP: Dose G.729 with IPP only worked on IntelCPU?
>My CPU is Centaur VIA Nehemiah with 998.715 MHz processor not INTEL CPU. Common Sense dude - The Intel IPPs work only for Intel CPUs. Remove the codec_g729.so file from /usr/lib/asterisk/modules folder and restart asterisk Check if it is working by starting as under: UnixPrompt# asterisk -cvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvf Once this loads correctly use 'Stop now' and restart with command

Samba & CUPS: only banner-page gets printed
In my setup I'm running Samba 3.0.23d-19.2 and CUPS 1.2.7-12.1. Printing from a windows-client works fine, until I instruct CUPS to add a banner-page. The banner-page then is the only thing that gets printed. Doing the same from Linux everything works fine. I get my job including a banner-page. The Windows-printjob is passed raw from Samba to CUPS... Anyone has an idea? Best, Johannes

How to prevent logging of some entries in CDR
Hi In order to add several phones to a single extension number, I have replaced entries like: exten => 100,1,Dial(SIP/sipphone100,20,Tr) into: exten => 100,1,Dial(Local/100 at phones,20,Tr) [phones] exten => XXX,1,Dial(SIP.sipphone${EXTEN}) etc This works great. However in the CDR, than seeing one entry for each call, I see several entries in the CDR Worse, if I do something like:

Server crash results in no printing (SuSE, Samba 3.0.4)
(yes, I know it's an old version of Samba but I *really* don't want to mess about upgrading right now) The server in question (SuSE Enterprise Linux 9) got itself in a tizz last night and was restarted cleanly via the shutdown -r command this morning. Everything comes back up, including Samba, and all is fine. Except that no-one can print. Nothing has changed in any of the

Equivalent of win.print for Linux
Hi! In Windows the "win.print" function allows plotting directly to a printer (or copying an open device to the printer). This is very convenient to quickly print a plot once it looks good. Is there an equivalent function under Linux? For example through CUPS, IPP, LPD or other ? Obviously with a printer on the parallel port one could write postscript("/dev/lp0") but what

Intel libraries
Warning: newbie post I've scanned the archives and found some discussion of porting some code so it's integer based as opposed to floating point based. Has anyone looked at using Intel's Integrated Performance Primitives or their Math Kernel Library in an effort to optimize the code across all x86/XScale processors?
