We have experianced a strang behavior with QuarkXPress files. These files can be opened/modified/saved by user a, user b can open/modify the file but saving is not possible. I had a working Samba 3.0beta1 as ADS member of a W2003 server. My w2000 client could log in to the W2003 server and use services on Samba (home directory). Winbind is working. So I tried to re-do all my work again. And suddenly the w2k can use any services on Samba anymore. This is a quick question.....Is there any way to allow W2K users access to a share on a linux machine without having to have synched passwords between samba and W2k...(maybe just leave the password field for samba blank?). When using Samba 2 (actual version 2.2.12) we had W2K domain users authentication via the ADS to access Samba shares.
