Determining vulnerability to issues described by SAs
Hi, I've been trying for the past few days to come up with a method for checking a FreeBSD system to see if it is vulnerable to an issue described by a FreeBSD security advisory in some automated way, similar to the way portaudit can use VuXML to check for vulnerabilities in ports. Right now, I'm a bit stuck--there seem to be fairly major issues with all the methods I've come up

Samba 3.0 + AD + OpenLDAP
Hi everyone! I've already deployed samba-2.2.7a-2 and enabled openLDAP support. I now have a machine configured as a domain controller authenticating all windows users via openLDAP. openLDAP is also authenticating all of our linux users. I would like to install Exchange2000 on a windows2000 machine so our windows users can do calendaring (sendmail already handles all of our email needs).

Disabling symlink following
Brendan, Unless I am seriously mistaken, I believe that by adding this 'wide links = no' to each share section will end the ability to create and use symlinks on your shares. I am unsure why anyone would want to really include symlinks into a Samba share. Does anyone care to enlighten me? Regards, Robert Adkins II IT Manager/Buyer Impel Industries, Inc. Compiling python_ext ?
Using samba-2.999+3.0.alpha21 (debian unstable source package), I can't get the python modules to compile correctly. The problem seems to be that py_common.c and py_smb.c declare global_myname as an extern pstring, while it is defined in include/proto.h as const char *global_myname(void). Changing the definition in the two files allows it to compile, but "from samba import smb" then

About Shorewall 1.3.14
It is my plan that the upcoming release of Shorewall (1.3.14) will definitely be the last of the 1.3.x releases and will very probably be the last release of Shorewall 1.x.x. I will continue to support Shorewall 1.3 but will be making no more enhancements to it. I will be devoting my time to Shorewall 2. If anyone is interested in taking over the development of Shorewall 1, please let me

File\Directory not healing
I've touched the directory one level above the directory with the I\O issue as the one above that is the one showing as dirty. It hasn't healed. File\Directory not healing
I guess you didn't receive my last e-mail. Use getfattr and identify if the gfid mismatch. If yes, move away the mismatched one. In order a dir to heal, you have to fix all files inside it before it can be healed.
