12 Charakter Sharename
I'm using Samba 2.2.1a in a NT Network as a Domain Member.
Everything works fine. But the size of Share Names from Samba is limited to
12 Charakters.
Why can?t use longer Sharenames ???

[Bridge] help setting up a linux bridge with spanning tree to allow multiple vlans accross multiple uplinks
For easy reading: http://www.karthaus.nl/r/
Hi,
We used to have 1 single ip range (1.1.1.0/24) that had one uplink to a =
switch of the colocation provider.
Recently we got a second range 2.2.2.0/24 and a redundant uplink =
directly on two routers. But our switch does not have spanning tree =
protocol support so we cannot use them redundantly.
We have set up the switch to have a vlan for both

it is possible to use musiconhold. i added
exten => s,5,SetMusicOnHold,default
exten => s,7,dial,SIP/michael&SIP/frank|15|m
to the extension conf.
the logfile looks good, i think
-- Called michael
-- Called joern
-- Started music on hold, class 'default', on CAPI[contr1/9999]
-- SIP/192.168.100.150:5060 is ringing
-- Stopped music on hold on CAPI[contr1/9999]

AW: Complete list about possible options for the config file???
Hey Joern,
the Problem is that I installed an Debian package and how can I find out
which version was included?
But I guess it is the standart version and I will have a look at the C code
but it's been a while...
But thanks anyway

Passwording a simple anonymous share
I have an embedded box (Yocto Project based linux distro) to which I'm
adding Samba 3.6 (from OpenEmbedded). All I need it for is to provide one
browsable file share that allows read/write access to anyone on the network.
But I want it to be password protected.
My best guess as to what goes into smb.conf is:
[global]
workgroup=WORKGROUP
netbios name=MACHINE
security=share

Failed to delete entry for share
Hi All,
I'm having some minor trouble with an obscure samba feature. I'm using
the remote administration "Server Manager" features of smb.conf.
Specifically the "add share command" "change share command" and "delete
share command". I've written a small C program to do the text-processing
portion of smb.conf file needed for each operation. The C

and if so, is there anything that can already play it (e.g. ogg123)? I
know ogg123 can play static speex files, it's the streaming bit that gets
me.

Can´t delete some applications
Hey & a good afternoon,
i installed DeusEx (u.s. version 1.0)on my SuSE. It runs good in an emulated windowmod of 1024x768. I got some renderprobs of the charakters and decided to uninstall it to check out the updated version (u.s. version patched 1.2).
The wine uninstaller dont worked fine with DeusEx
Code:
wine uninstaller
so i decided to uninstall it with the DeusEx uninstaller itself.

agi debug - unable to set normal priority
Hello!
In my agi-debug i get the following error-message:
AGI Rx << Jan 16 14:45:52 WARNING[18299]: asterisk.c:788 ast_set_priority:
Unable to set normal priority
AGI Tx >> 510 Invalid or unknown command
AGI Rx << SET VARIABLE MODCLI 00434345452
the agi i call is a very simple shellscript that simply removes wrong
charakters:

Shortened sharenames
Doing a little shell scripting with smbclient and noticed that
smbclient -N -L host
only displays the first 13 charachters of the sharename.
Since that is totally crippled feel like I must be missing something
obvious, but can't track it down. Any pointers on getting FULL sharenames
using smbclient?
Thanks for the help
