pserver.netfilter.org CVS tree reorganization
--+9faIjRurCDpBc7U Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi! As many of you will have noticed already, I took the liberty to reorganize the CVS tree structure. This was needed to get a better seperation between independent parts of the project. =20 pserver.netfilter.org:/cvspublic now has the following modules:

The pserver will be unavailable until I can install the latest update that addresses a security problem. The CVS web interface remains available. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net

cvs pserver sig11 on 4.8-R
Hi all, We recently moved our CVS repository from a 4.6-STABLE machine to a brand new 4.8 install, on another identical machine. The server runs cvs in 'pserver' mode, for remote access by various Windows/Solaris/Linux/FreeBSD clients. We pretty soon noticed that the cvs server process was occasionally crashing on sig11 (ie. a segfault). The only evidence for this was in the message

[ADMIN] netfilter.org CVS now converted to subversion
Important Announcement! The netfilter.org CVS server (pserver.netfilter.org) has been deprecated by the new subversion repository at svn.netfilter.org. More information about the subversion revision control system can be found at http://subversion.tigris.org/. Everybody has read-only access to the new subversion tree using either svn+http or svn+https. We do not provide the native svn protocol.

[OT] CVS update
Um, I don't remember the exact checkout command line I used, but it was probably something like the instructions on the web page: cvs -d :pserver:cvs@pserver.samba.org:/cvsroot rsync anyway, how do I update? I tried: [chris@lt2 rsync]$ cvs update -d -P cvs [update aborted]: connect to pserver.samba.org(66.70.73.150):2401 failed: Connection refused and login gives the same: [chris@lt2

[ANNOUNCE] netfilter/iptables Anonymous CVS has been moved
--88ivsf4xsnd8HFHJ Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi! The anonymous CVS repository for the netfilter/iptables project has been moved. Please don't use the old (pserver.samba.org) repository anymore, since it is no longer updated and will run out of date very soon. The new location for accessing the

Running 'ssh' and 'scp' from a chroot jail (sandbox)
I have a need to have users SSH into a server where they are limited to a chroot jail (sandbox). Once they are there, they need to be able to execute 'ssh' and 'scp' to other systems. I've no problem setting up the basic chroot jail and providing basic functionality (ls, cat, less, etc). The part that is stopping me is setting it up so that that user can then 'ssh'

best way to work with cvs?
I use a script to get the lastest samba: #!/usr/bin/ksh echo "\npassword: cvs\n" cvs -d :pserver:cvs@pserver.samba.org:/cvsroot login cvs -z5 -d :pserver:cvs@pserver.samba.org:/cvsroot co samba Are there any other commands I could tack on or something I should do differently to make sure I am getting correct rebuilds? For example, should I tack on at the end: cd

Samba 2.2 CVS
Sure thing: cvs -d :pserver:cvs@pserver.samba.org:/cvsroot login <password is cvs > cvs -z5 -d :pserver:cvs@pserver.samba.org:/cvsroot co -r SAMBA_2_2 samba this will grab samba_2_2 and place it in a directory lableled samba. leaving out the SAMBA_2_2 grabs HEAD. you can get other modules as follows: SAMBA_2_2 HEAD APPLIANCE_HEAD APPLIANCE_TNG there are others but I haven't tried

anonymous CVS access to Samba sources
Those of you wishing to follow the Samba source code closely can now get direct read-only access to the Samba source code repository. This means you can see every piece of code we commit to the tree the minute we commit it. I haven't provided this type of access up to now as I couldn't work out how to make it totally safe, so that a malicious user can't gain write access. I've now

changes to allow chroot'ed sftp
I have a use for sftp to run in a chroot jail. Since sftp doesn't quite work properly for that, I did the work to make it function like that. This required two different changes: sftpsh is a replacement for nologin. It works like nologin except under certain circumstances -- where it will start up sftp-server. The other part was to add an option to sftp-server. the '-c' option

lots of changes in cvs
Hi all, I''ve been spending a lot of time over the past few weeks on RubyTorrent. All the changes are in CVS. Highlights are: - Transfer speeds should be much better, thanks to a better piece selection algorithm, and being more aggressive about dropping boring peers and adding new ones, - Download/upload rate limits now work. - Many bugs fixed. - .torrent creation now

CVS working now, but why?
I managed to update my CVS tree, but not by the method described on http://www.winehq.com/devstart.shtml, that is export CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs@cvs.winehq.com:/home/wine cvs login cvs update -PAd but rather by doing this cvs -d CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs@cvs.winehq.com:/home/wine login cvs -d CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs@cvs.winehq.com:/home/wine update -PAd which, if the documentation has anything to say,
