I am looking to install this other hard disc into the Mandrake 8.1 box and migrate everything over. Hello once again, I've got winbind doing authentication not just for the samba service but also sshd and login. It's great. However, I have to give a fully-qualified username (e.g. "GENEEDINC+chris.palmer") as the username when logging in via these methods. Hi, I've just install samba 2.2 with ldap support, it is working just fine. I've create some samba users using smbpasswd and they are inserted into the ldap directory. But, I was wondering if it was possible to delegate the full authentification process to ldap. That's to say completely remove any information from /etc/passwd? Hi, I have setup /etc/pam.d/system-auth as below. But when I login to the Linux Box from KDE3, I get a prompt saying I don't have write access to the HOME. Then got kicked out. In NT Domain, when I double click on the Samba machine, I get network path not found. What am I doing wrong? Please help.
