Hello, Now, I'm faced with a problem: I need to be able to login using the same username that I bind against using ldapsearch, and not the sAMAccountName given to me via winbind. ie. to login using one of my AD usernames right now, I issue: su - ADSDOMAIN+username1 but the binddn I use to search the ldap directory is, say, username2: ldapsearch -x -W -D"username2"

Hello List, on a windows-pc are files with an EURO-Sign "?" included in the filenames. This is working between all XP and 2000 Clients. But if i try to access such a file from a linux-box, I cannot read this files. I switched to the german charset with EURO Sign but no success. Then i tried the cifs instead of smbfs. I have Samba in production (4.9.6-12 on Ubuntu 18.04) which is working well. However, we are several releases behind so I am gearing up to upgrade to the latest 4.9 release. As part of the preparations (and for other reasons), I spun up an upgraded DC cluster in our development environment (4.9.12-15 on Ubuntu 18.04).
