I have a very strange problem, which no one has been able to fathom to
this point so I'm hoping that someone here may have encountered
something similar. I'd better note down some background details first.
Relevant machines involved:
Win2K Adv. Server SP3 (acting as Active Directory primary)
Win2K Pro SP3 (authenticates against Win2K server above)

Packet capturing
Hello Everybody!
I am an Engineering student and doing a project on WAN Emulator. Can anyone
please tell me the way to capture a packet on Network Layer. I want to
capture original packet and not the copy(i think libpcap provides a copy of
the original packet). Let suppose we get a copy on Netwok layer then how we
can destroy the original packet....
Plz suggest me....Thanks in advance

Upgrading to Samba 2.2.7
I'm running Red Hat version 7.2 as server. It has been fully upgraded from
Red Hat UP2DATE.
Samba 2.2.3a is currently running on the server with a working smb.conf
file. I've noted a lot of comments/suggestions to upgrade to Samba 2.2.7.
I find 2 files on the samba.org site for Red Hat 7.x: samba2.2.7-1.i386.rpm
and samba2.2.7.src.rpm
When trying to install with the Package Manager I

This spring I added a Linux workstation (Red Hat 7.2 - Samba 2.2.3a) to the

giving me what I want.
LAN addresses are assigned with DHCP. I have had several people tell me
that they have a network running with static addresses. I

you can always do a "restart when convenient" within asterisk, and it
will do it's thing when all lines are clear....

You've just started yet another thread on this topic, asking the same
question. Please search the archives first, you'll get your answers w/o
asking.

Using asterisk as voicemail with SER
Hi,
I'm currently using SER, and the voicemail system there is not stable,
and is lacking IVR.
I'm wondering if I could use asterisk as a voicemail system only,
where calls will get redirected by ser to asterisk and users will be
able to leave a message.
Is this setup workable, and have anybody done that ?
Thanks.
Samy.

Permission denied
Dovecot is faulting on an error about permissions that it shouldn't do.
I've got an user with its home dir with permissions 700, and inside the
mail directory with the mboxes.
In the error log I can see: 'Can't chdir to /home/user. Permission denied'
I wonder why it has to chdir to that directory and why it can't access.
Shouldn't it be running as the user?

ROracle problem with Oracle9i on Red Hat 8.0
Hi,
I have a problem executing "library(ROracle)" in R:
OS/Software:
Redhat 8.0, all available patches applied
Oracle 9i v9.2.0.1.0
R v1.7.0
ROracle v0.5-0

The compilation and installation of ROracle went fine. However when I try to
load ROracle I get the following:

plot(pam.object) error with R-1.7.0 on Red-Hat 8.0 i686
I don't know if there is some fault in compiling or a bug of the new
R-1.7.0 version:
cl.pam.2 <- pam(as.dist(1-cor(mel.data)),2)
plot(cl.pam.2)
perform a right partitioning and silhouette plot on the old R-1.6.2
instead
"Error in clusplot.default(x$diss,...... ;
x is not numeric"
is the output on the new R-1.7.0.
Same platform: RH8.0 i686.
Some suggestions?
