Voicemail Password crashing
I am currently having issues when trying to change my password in Voicemail. I am not utilizing realtime because I believe there is a problem with MWI being sent to phones and realtime databases (this may have changed since I last used Asterisk). Whenever I try to change the password for the account, the asterisk program gives a Sig fault (signal 11). I do see the voicemail.conf.new file

OT: (a) Biostar or MSI mainboard? (b) all Celeron CPU's OK?
(a) Mark (mhr) suggested I buy a bare bones box, when I reported the problem with the mainboard in this Dell Dimension 2400 box. Possibly I can have the mainboard repaired (and the PSU, if it is also having problems), and if so, I will give this one to my Stepson and go the bare bones box route and have a more powerful box for myself. I looked at two (2) very low end Desktop mainboards in the

Digital Audio (via EIDE ribbon cables) supported in Kernel in CentOS 5.0?
Hello: Will Digital Audio (via EIDE ribbon cables) be supported in the Kernel in CentOS 5.0? I'm now using CentOS 4.4 on a Dell Dimension 2400 box (Celeron 2.6 GHz CPU). This is a dual boot box, rarely booted into Windows XP, but when I do use Windows, and I place an Audio CD into the DVD drive or CD-RW drive, I can hear the music. Using CentOS 4.4, I can see that the software and hardware are

Three (Possibly Connected) Samba Issues
Hello, I am having a number of issues with a SAMBA based network. The configuration file is appended to the end of this message. The network has the following configuration: 1 Server: Fedora Core Linux 5, with fully up-to-date packages. The server is one P4 2.26 GHz with one 40GB ext3 EIDE drive configured as the boot volume. The data is stored on two 40 GB mirrored EIDE drives, also formatted

ext2 vs. ext3
Hi, I just tested ext2 and ext3(2.4-0.9.6) with 2.4.8-ac8, using bonnie++-1.01. The hardware is an old Pentium 100 box with 48M RAM and a 16.6MB/s EIDE harddrive. The test results(see attachment) show ext3 is a lot slower than ext2 in most aspects. Does anybody get better results? Wenzhuo

RealServer and Icecast
I now this may be a touchy subject, but I'll preface by saying that I'm trying to get away from Real Networks. Now that video is becoming a reality with Icecast, I want to make a slow transition from using RealServer to using Icecast. I have 20GBs of video content in Real format so I need to keep using the RealServer, but I want to start running the live audio stream with Icecast. Has

CD Burning with Wine?
Hello, I just got WINE running under FreeBSD and I was wondering if anyone has had success getting CD burning programs to work. Specifically, I would like to use CloneCD. I can use cdrecord / burncd to make data cd's and backups and the like, but a disk-at-once program is best (IMO) for copying audio cd's. And, unfortunately, there aren't any dao programs that support EIDE drives

Recovering LVM volumes
Hello all I have two sets of eIDE hard drives from earlier servers, one centos & one fedora. Both were LVM volumes with three or four physical disks, with ext3 fs. One disk, maybe even the boot one may even be missing, either from one or both sets and we do not know the disk order. I got these left from an earlier sysadmin who left the company & nobody know what's what. I need to

Status of SPARC64 port?
I was looking at the Sparc 64 4.7 or 4.8 port, wondering if its in any state to put on my Solaris v100. Just need the basics, eide, network, kbm, mouse, graphics (x). A bonus would be support for the lom (light out management) features and the flash card. Reason for change is I HOPE that the math (ssl) performance is better on FBSD, as well as I am just tired of keeping track of
