src/etc/rc.firewall simple ${fw_pass} tcp from any to any established
Hi security@ list,
In my self written, large ipfw rule set, I had something that passed
http to allow me to browse most but not all remote sites. For years
I assumed the few sites I had difficulty with were cases pppoed MTU
!= 1500, from not having installed tcpmssd on my 4.*-RELEASE, but
then running 6.1-RELEASE I realised that wasn't the problem.

winegcc on non-x86 system
yes, winegcc generates x86 output.
I ever conpiled it on a non-x86 box.
I did not remember whether the generated winegcc generated native code or x86 code.
e.g, how winegcc generates powerpc code.

problems with authentication -- restrict certain actions to certain users
Ok, so at this point I''ve got my app completely written, including the
login generator, and I''ve even got stuff like the layout done up all
nicely so that the login page matches the rest of the site nicely. All
is good.
But there''s one problem: I''m not running a wiki here, I''m running a
personal site. As it is, any schmuck can log in, and anybody

when is the o.s. considered to be at a certain minor version? Or, is it safe to apply only certain package updates from the next release version?
Two related questions about the minor release numbers (e.g. the 'x' in 5.x or 6.x) :
1) What constitutes the o.s. being at a particluar minor release? Typically, when you install you are getting a package set available from a specific minor release number. But what minor release is the o.s. at if I just update the centos-release package, and no other package? Typically, a 'yum

packages as well; I haven't yet experimented except with spatstat.)
Strictly speaking I can ***install*** it, but when I try

short question about aaf:
is there a builtin functionality in acts_as_ferret to exclude records
from being indexed when for example a column "is_deleted" /
"is_disabled" / "dont_index" has a certain value?

Migration fails when using certain table name
I''m trying to do this migration, but it fails when I try to create a
default content using Section.create I get an error saying ''unitialized

The weird thing is if I use a table name like ''categories'' with
Category.create instead of ''sections'' and Section.create then it all

only checking certain parameters for a method
I''m writing a test where I only care about one of the parameters being sent
to the method, does anyone think having a way to say that any value for a
parameter which I don''t care about is valid? I''m thinking something like:
def test_charge_is_for_10_bucks
gateway = test_gateway
member = Member.new
member.credit_card_number = "1"

Ignoring certain files?
Hey guys,
Is there any way I can get rspec to ignore all files in spec/fixtures when
it does a recursive search for all spec/**/*_spec.rb files?
The problem I''m facing is that the fixtures for my code are project

different project structures. That works, except obviously those can contain
_spec.rb
