FlashMX creates BAD .swf file on Samba
Hi peoples,
I have a Samba Server that has had the same config for over 10 months now
(read: never had a problem).
Just today, I thought, let's Play with Flash MX, so download I did.
Start playing around, and went to test my first movie and it came up blank.
Not a flash GURU that I am, I was stumped. Anyway. Saved the flash file
to my local C:\ (Oh did I mention the WS is Win2k ;) .. and

Flash and Contribute
I just installed wine-20050419 and it's great so far. Dreamweaver works,
office2000 works, Adobe photoshop and InDesign 3.0 work great. However
both Contribute3.0 and FlashMX do not work. They both have a common error.
Flash:

Contribute offers a few more:

mixed local & roaming profiles?
Before I join all my W2K clients to my 3.0.8-2 Samba server (Debian),
I plan to remove "logon path = ..." due to sporatic problems I'm seeing.
We're only ~10 regular Windows2000 users, and ~30 VMware Win2K users, so
roaming doesn't buy us much. However, it might be helpful if I could
enable roaming either by user or by host, particularly with the VMware
users.

Wireless links + Realtime video >= Headache! (long queue delays)
Hello LARTC gurus. I''m new to this list and have a mind boggling problem that I cannot resolve. Let me describe my problem:
We have a custom built wireless camera comprised of an IP encoder and a BitsyX running Linux. It communicates to an antenna unit (Bitsyx) which plugs into a Windows machine with a digitial video recorder:

2.0.2 servers with 1.9.18p10 DMB?
Have there been any problems reported with running 2.0.2 on servers using
security=server with a 1.9.18p10 DMB? We've run into a situation where
I've upgraded 4 of our servers to 2.0.2 but the DMB is still running
1.9.18p10. We have had sporatic trouble with the upgraded servers
rejecting correct passwords because the DMB seemingly would not properly
validate them. Today, we ran into a

Re: regcontext, NoOp extension vanishes when extension reload, WORKING
OK this was an easy one to fix. All I had to do is RTFM. Note on the wiki:
ATTENTION: Make sure you take a look at bug report 7144
Just do what Kevin said, include the regcontext in whatever static
context you have the priority 2 extension and don't make a static
regcontext in extension.conf. Let sip module do the rest. Works
great.
Thanks Guys.

FIX for smbtar zero length files... (Cont :)
(Erm, sorry about that...)
I was talking about errors of the type: Got 0 bytes.
The problem was sporatic, and seemed to be load/speed based. That is,
the faster the Linux box, the more errors we had.
A look through clitar.c led me to a solution. Currently, clitar.c is
written to pad a file with zeros if a file read error occurs. This is
normal. All of our errors were of the 0 byte length

Why is Win98 looking for user "nobody"?
Using Samba v2.0.10 on a RedHat v7.1 box, I see that the Win98 clients on
our network are making sporatic requests for user "nobody" (as shown
below). Anyone know what's going on here?
My network has both Linux and Win98 clients, but only the Win98 clients are
showing this behavior. Both the Linux and Win98 clients access the same
shared drives, but only the Win98 clients use

Cannot connect from Linux to XP
I am using Samba Version 2.999+3.0cvs20020906-1 for Debian.
I can use it fine FROM windows to access files on my linux computer.
These two are the only computers on my workgroup.
I am unable to conenct to my Windows XP PRO SP1 computer.
Any ideas?

Samba Password Aging
Samba version 2.999+3.0cvs20020906-1 for Debian
Somehow the Samba password is aging and is requiring a reset once a
month for a couple of users. I can't see anything in the man pages to
indicate that the passwords age, so how is Samba doing it, and how do I
stop this behavior?
One user is on Windows 2000 and the other on Windows XP.
The Windows passwords are not aging and neither are

Joining WinXp to Samba PDC
After trying to get WinXP (Pro) to try and find my domain so I can log
on I've finally done it, but now when I try and join my WinXP client to
the domain, windows asks me to enter the username and password of an
account with permission to join the domain.
Now which account would this be?? root doesn't work, neither do my other
samba users.
Do I have to create another user or something?

Samba 3.0 + AD + OpenLDAP
Hi everyone!
I've already deployed samba-2.2.7a-2 and enabled openLDAP support. I
now have a machine configured as a domain controller authenticating all
windows users via openLDAP. openLDAP is also authenticating all of our
linux users.
I would like to install Exchange2000 on a windows2000 machine so our
windows users can do calendaring (sendmail already handles all of our
email needs).

LDAP Filter Problem
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this one. I am having trouble
getting LDAP and samba working properly on my Debian Woody box. I am using
OpenLDAP 2.0.27-3 and the unsable packaged Samba version 2.999+3.0 and am
using the samba.schema for my LDAP database.
Whenever I try to join the network using either W2K or smbclient the LDAP
debug log shows that the following filter is being

Can't Find Password
I am running Samba 3.0 HEAD with LDAP 2.0. I have ldapsam enabled buy when
I try to log into my server from a W2K machine I get the following in my
error log:

The log file shows that Samba successfully retrieved the root posixAccount
record and the log displays some of the data (i.e. home directory) that is
stored for root in LDAP. The

Samba 2.2.7a and XP pro
I have read over the lists and search the web, I know this question has
been asked before, but I've not been able to fix my problem so I'll ask
here.
I have been successful in joining the XP machine to the domain however it
when I try to login to the domain windows instantly kicks up the message:
"Windows cannot connect to the domain, either because the domaincontroller
is down or
