Possible bug in nmbd.
Hi,
My nmbd daemon is dying with an internal error periodically. Samba
version is 2.2.7a (I think the latest stable) but I've tried with the
Samba package that came with my Linux distro (a Debian Woody) and it
failed with the same messages too.
Here goes the log.nmbd file:

What can I do if my Windows PDC won't recognize the machine account it

# smbpasswd -j DOM -r DOMPDC1 -Uadministrator%password
Joined domain DOM.

And smb.conf containing the following:

Samba FreeBSD problem
I have installed Samba before on one of my Sun boxes running Solaris, but the box died and I'm back on an x86 machine running FreeBSD and now I'm getting some odd errors that I cannot track down. I've searched all the mailing lists and newsgroups and tried different solutions that were suggested but to no avail. Below are my config and log file. I am not using any authentication to

nmbd reacts to its own broadcasts?
Hi,
Is it normal for nmbd to react to its own broadcasts? This is what seems
to be happening to me.
I'm just installed SAMBA 2.2.8a on a Gentoo box on my home network; a
3-node network using NetBIOS over TCP/IP--all B-nodes. Looking at the
logs I saw lines such as the following each time I started SAMBA.

nmb errors overflowing onto console
Hello everyone,
I have a curious problem that seemingly came out of nowhere. After
searching through the archives, I see that I am not the first to discover
this problem, but so far, no solution has been found. In June 99, Mark
Drummond mentioned a similar problem.
Recently, I started seeing nmbd errors on the console. A little poking
around revealed a log file full of these errors. Below is a

samba synchronization of browse lists.
Hello,
I just installed samba 2.2.3a on my FreeBSD 4.4 box and am trying to
connect to it using my win2ksp2 machine. I've got it set up to be the
local master browser in my workgroup for my internal network. However
it's not working. I checked the logs and in log.nmbd it's trying to bind
to a domain master browser for the browse lists, which i obviously don't
have. Is this a new

Problems authentication against ADS on a W2K3 Server
I'm trying to get Samba set up to use ADS authentication against a
Windows 2003 Server running in native mode. I have successfully joined
the domain, and
kinit user@MYDOMAIN.DOM
works successfully. I can also use smbclient to connect to shares on
the local machine, so Samba is basically working. However, when I try
to connect from a Windows machine I get
