wbinfo -u returns 0xc0000022
Hello,
I am attempting to add a Redhat 9 box to our NT4 domain as a member
server. I want to enumerate user and group info so I don't have to make
two sets of user and group accounts. I've setup samba (version 2.2.7a)
and pamd the way I think I'm supposed to, but wbinfo -u always returns
0xc0000022. I've found this particular error mentioned in a few
articles, but applying the

Authenticating against a Windows 2000 DC?
I apologize in advance if this is a FAQ, but I couldn't find the FAQ document for this list. I also could not find anything relevant in other Samba documentation sources like http://hr.uoregon.edu/davidrl/samba.html.
There seems to be plenty of information about using Samba *as* a DC, but I want to know if I can use Samba *with* a Windows 2000 DC. We have two DCs running Windows 2000, a W2K

Windows2000 + Winbind
Dear All,
I use Redhat 9, Samba 2.2.7a-8.9.0. I have Windows2000 server as a Domain
Controller. I try to use winbind. I followed the document comes with samba.
I can join Win2k domain. The problem is wbinfo does not show the correct
list.
Here is the tail of the result from winbindd -i -d 8

Winbind on Solaris 2.6
It would appear that communication with the PDC is fine - all other commands
(-t, -m, -s SID, -n name, etc.) work OK, it's just the group/user
enumeration calls that appear to fail. Has anybody got any ideas whatsoever
- I think it has to be a problem on the NT PDC side as, according to the
debug log at level 10:

0xc0000022 error / winbind
Hi,
I run linux mandrake 9.2 on a NT2K domain with a win2k server (in native
mode)
I've installed samba 2.2.8 on the linux box with winbind. I've followed
the samba howtos (joined the domain etc...) and everything's running
fine except that :

Secret is good
wbinfo -u
0xc0000022
wbinfo -g

Winbind and Windows 2000
We are running a windows 2000 domain where I work. I
am developing a linux client for desktop deployment so
that we can stop the spread of cancer (read
microsoft). I can get winbind to join the domain,
but when i try a winfo -t, it tells me "could not
check secret". I have scoured the internet looking
for help and could not find anything. I used the HOW

Samba unable to validate usernames; winbind works
Running the command:
wbinfo -aDOMAINNAME+Administrator%password
works, in fact, all of the wbinfo commands report data as they should.
However, when I try to connect to a share on the SMB server, I get the
following error message in the logs:

wbinfo -u is returning 0xc0000022
Hi all,
I have a samba 2.2.8a install runing on a debian woody. The samba is working fine and I am able to map shared drives. I want to use a Primary Domain Controller to authenticate users. I have included the necessary options in smb.conf,
# separate domain and username with '+', like DOMAIN+username
winbind separator = +
# use uids from 10000 to 20000 for domain users

winbindd - NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi,
I've joined my new SAMBA-3 in a NT4 PDC using the administrator user.
The winbindd daemon is started but when I try :
wbinfo -g, I see in the log file :
could not enumerate domain groups! Error:NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Which could be the reasons of this error ?
Thank you,

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED (0xc0000022, authoritative=0)
Good afternoon friends
I have a problem with SAMPA
My environment has several branches. And each branch office has an AD Win 2012 Server
And I have in each branch a Centos Server 7.7 with sampa 4.9.1 that only communicates with the matrix server AD. Samba does not communicate with the local AD Server.
Follow my SAMPA setup

CentOS 3.4 + Samba 3.0.9-1.3E.2, winbind problems
Hi all,
Thus far, I have managed to get wbinfo -[u|g] to display users/group
correctly, and getent passwd/group works. However, wbinfo -t fails to
work, giving me this error:
[root@billing samba]# wbinfo -t
checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed
error code was NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED (0xc0000022)
Could not check secret
Further, this seems to be related to a problem with wbinfo -a:

windbind how-to ?
I have only been on the list a short while today, but mostly see winbind
questions...is there a definitive how-to for winbind and maybe faq?
Seems we need some better documentation with everyone having
questions/problems...

can't login to domain errors
This is very strange. I have 2 DC's (different locations) that have the
samba smb.conf (change in workgroup/netbios name). One network/DC works
just fine. On the other setup, We can login to the local machine, map
drives over as the user, all looks good. We then join the domain, and
that works fine. Then when you reboot the windows box, you can't login
to the domain because it gives

Samba, Cups, printer driver download problems
I have Samba 2.2.6 complied against Cups 1.1.16 on a Sparc system running
Solaris 9. Cups has replaced the stock system V lp spooler on this system
(original packages removed.)
Cups working from UNIX command line is A-OK.
I have been working on setting up Samba to play nice with cups. I have
followed the instructions from both the Cups and Samba websites to set up

winbind + groups hogs CPU
I've been using winbind successfully for awhile now for user info
(nothing in /etc/passwd), but today I tried to use it to pull group
info, so I updated /etc/nsswitch.conf (RH 7.3) and then tried to add:
valid users = @DOMAIN+group_name
and now whenever I click on any folder (share) to open the cpu util goes
up, and the connection hangs for awhile, and then eventually it

Winbind and trusted domains
Does Samba has a problem working with trusted domains ?
I have two trusted domains and a Samba server 2.2.2 configured with winbind
running on RH 7.0, after working for a week its now only showing me the
remote domain groups and not the local domain groups.
The remote domain is called Sxxx and the local one Txxxx, does samba
consider an alphabetical order or somethig like that when working with
