Upgrading to Samba 2.2.7
I'm running Red Hat version 7.2 as server. It has been fully upgraded from
Red Hat UP2DATE.
Samba 2.2.3a is currently running on the server with a working smb.conf
file. I've noted a lot of comments/suggestions to upgrade to Samba 2.2.7.
I find 2 files on the samba.org site for Red Hat 7.x: samba2.2.7-1.i386.rpm
and samba2.2.7.src.rpm
When trying to install with the Package Manager I

Solaris derivate with the best long-term future
As a napp-it user who recently needs to upgrade from NexentaCore I recently saw
"preferred for OpenIndiana live but running under Illumian, NexentaCore and Solaris 11 (Express)"
as a system recommendation for napp-it.
I wonder about the future of OpenIndiana and Illumian, which
fork is likely to see the most continued development, in your opinion?
Thanks.

network configuration (done with ifconfig/route add) sticky in
nexenta core/napp-it?
After reboot system reverts to 0.0.0.0 and doesn''t listen

Re: 911 and lawsuits and redundancy
you can always do a "restart when convenient" within asterisk, and it
will do it's thing when all lines are clear....

Help! Asterisk 0.7.1 No Sound in recorded gsm files
I just moved my system over to a new server with * 0.7.1. The old machine was
using a cvs from August/Sep timeframe.
On the new machine I did an make samples but then ovewrote with tar files of the

/var/spool/asterisk
/var/lib/asterisk
folders.
Now the system seems to be working fine but only records blank audio in the
voicemail files. Same thing with

all in one server: xen/esxi + zfs storage + other server + pci passthrough
hello
at the moment i have several esxi virtual-server with a unsufficient and slow storage-concept included (or i have to pay a lot of money). so i use separate zfs server (free nexenta + my napp-it web gui) as a nas/san server to store virtual machines on nfs shares.
this two server concept is fine for our primary server but not for cost sensitive systems like test installations, home

Advice Request: 2-4 line, 10 station * system
Hardly finished building our phone system for our school district and I have an
opportunity to sell and install a system for a local small business. We are
competing against a bid for an integrated voicemail/switch that runs about $1300
(without phones and cabling) and will work with analog phones.
Is there hardware configuration (either using analog or IP phones) that would
meet these needs and

completing missing samples
Hello,
I have a time-series that has some missing samples.
I was thinking on completing them using either zero-order hold or linear
interpolation.
I am looking for an efiicient way (other than a loop...) of identifiying the
missing time slots and filling them.
Can you think of any methods that might help here? (obviously
which(diff(time)>min(diff(time))) will give the locations, but what

file access with mongrel running as windows service
i have an archive of documents (word, excel, jpeg, png, gif...)
residing on a network share that is accessed via send_file.
when running mongrel on the command line the files are properly
delivered.
with mongrel running as a service they don''t.
now normally i would think that should be fixable by configuring the
service to run under a user that can read the files....

Identifying case by groups in a data frame
Hi everyone,
I would like to identify the case by groups that is just bigger that
avg plus sd. For example, using species as group and petal.wid as my
variable in the iris data.
What's the better way to doit? creating a function?
So,the question is to identify the single element of each species that is just larger than a cut-off point (i.e. larger than mean + sd)
I made this, but I can not

mixing WD20EFRX and WD2002FYPS in one pool
Hi,
after a flaky 8-drive Linux RAID10 just shredded about 2 TByte worth
of my data at home (conveniently just before I could make
a backup) I''ve decided to both go full redundancy as well as
all zfs at home.
A couple questions: is there a way to make WD20EFRX (2 TByte, 4k
sectors) and WD200FYPS (4k internally, reported as 512 Bytes?)
work well together on a current OpenIndiana? Which

indexing mostly-binary documents (.ppt)
Here''s an interesting problem: In my app, we are indexing various
types of documents, including microsoft powerpoint. Powerpoint
documents are mostly binary, but have a bunch of text (all of the
text in the document?) as well.
My thinking is that the binary will never get searched for, and the
proper text will be indexed and queried as expected, so the indexed
binary will never

work.

Uniden UIP-200 Multiple line appearances
Hi -
I'm wondering if any has experience with the Uniden UIP-200 phones.
The product info says that the 8 led buttons at the top are all
programmable. Can they be programmed as separate line appearances (ala
