Success story: Vixen christmas lite app
http://computerchristmas.com/ForumBoard/read.php?f=2&i=198&t=193
said Vixen worked with Wine, so I tried it, and sure enough,
it seems to run. It's kind of cool to see .real net apps working
with Wine.
Here's how I tested:
$ rm -rf .wine
$ wget http://www.vixenlights.com/releases/Vixen%202.0%20Release.zip
$ wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks
$ sh ~/winetricks corefonts

"Vixen" HVM shim package available in virt-xen-testing
To install the package:
yum --enablerepo=virt-xen-VV-testing xen-vixen
Where VV is '44', '46', or '48', depending on which version you're
using. (It's the same package for all versions.)
This will install the xen-vixen "shim" binary, as well as the
pvshim-converter script.

Antwort: roaming profiles Samba 2.2.3a and W2K SP2
Hi Rene,
I have found this in the "whats new" for Samba 2.2.3
Added/changed parameters.
-------------------------
...
nt acl support
This parameter has been changed to a per-share option, and is very
useful in enabling Windows 2000 SP2 to load/save profiles from a
Samba share.
...
Maybe it helps!
Regards, Thomas

roaming profiles Samba 2.2.3a and W2K SP2
Hello samba-insiders,
we have a WinNT 4.0 SP5 PDC and our samba 2.2.3a is member of the domain.
The roaming profiles of our clients stored on the samba 2.2.3a server.
All seams to be perfect but clients with W2K SP2 cannot use there roaming
profiles.
---> "Access Denyed" is the W2K error message.
But if the same user loggs on on a client machine with W2K SP1 all things
are ok.

Samba, Win XP Not printing
I've been upgrading a client's systems from Win98SE to WinXP and am having an
unexpected problem.
I have 2 Linux servers. One is a print and fax server which has worked fine
with the Win98 workstations. They can browse and find the printer (an HP
LaserJet 5Si) and print without problems.
The server itself is also running HylaFax and is printing with out a problem.
The XP systems

Xen 4.4 Immediate EOL
Hi,
I am very sorry to do this on short notice, but obviously Meltdown and
Spectre are a lot more than anyone was really expecting to come down the
pipeline. Xen 4.4 has been EOL upstream for about a year now and I have
personally been reviewing and backporting patches based on the 4.5
versions made available upstream.
Given that 4.5 is now also reaching EOL, backporting to 4.4 will become

newbie problem: can't mount win xp disk into linux (regkey is set)
Got two machines connected via a 10MBit Hub:
One Slackware Linux 8.1 with eth0 = Realtek8139 (working fine),
one WindowsXP Pro, same NIC, registry key for proper auth is set.
The Windows machine is called xerxes on which the C dir is shared, and there
is /mnt/xerxes/ on the Linux box.
The command:
# mount -t smbfs -o username=(username on win machine),password=(passwd on win
# machine)
