Maximum Session IDs
Sorry forgot the subject, Evolution dumped on me in the middle of composing the first time round.
I'm getting the following errors. How do I get rid of the max on

Fileshares failing
Hi,
I used to have a set of samba shares working fine on a Centos 4 machine,
accessed by XP clients and authenticated against a 2003 SBS server. Then
I did a yum upgrade and a week later noticed that the seldom-used SMB
shares have stopped working. No other changes to the Centos server, and
no domain changes. The XP clients now just keep prompting for
authentication.
A wireshark trap shows

I cannot mount my Samba shares. I could, then I rebooted my device, and
now I no longer can. The .conf file has not been changed in over a year.

PAM session trouble
I am using PAM and pam_smbpass.so with Samba 2.999 (Debian sid package).
If, in /etc/pam.d/samba, I set

Debugging samba/winbind SMB share
Hi,
I had an active-directory authentication based samba system up and running, working well. However, I tried to access an SMB share on the server a few days back and just get a windows login user/password prompt.
I'm trying to debug why theres a "system error".
PAM is configured for pam_winbind.so in /etc/pam.d/system-auth, and I can ssh into the system using a domain

Strange problem with Samba as AD member
Dear all,
I've a real strange problem with one of my Samba-servers. Most of the time a lot of users get the message
about "trust relationship failure" when trying to access the share on this server. Below you find part of a log
where the user can access the share and a few seconds later it's no longer possible. "net ads testjoin" shows
that join of the samba-server

"smbd/session.c:111(session_claim) Re-using invalid record" in Samba logs
Hi,
Just recently the logs of a production Samba server are being populated by
the following message:
"smbd/session.c:111(session_claim) Re-using invalid record"
Does anyone have any tips for fixing this "invalid record"?
(I believe it is related to the utmp = yes option which is set in
/etc/samba/smb.conf).
I do not believe this log message is serious, but we are

I have a centos box using kernel 2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp that had a samba

Mixed Samba 3 & 4 Versions - Issue joining Samba 3 domain with a Samba 4 client
Hello, everybody.
I'm trying to use a Debian 8.5.0 client machine (with hostname
PCSCD850, 10.100.109.5 is its IP) joining an old Samba 3.6.23 tdbsam
based PDC (hostname DSSC01, SCDOM is the NetBIOS domain name, 10.200.0.5
its IP).
The machine was added to the PDC using useradd (unix) and smbpasswd
-a -m (samba). Because there is a group used for the machines

Samba - Winbind problem : session setup failed : System error
Hello,
I'm using Samba 2.2.7a on RedHat 9.0. I'm trying to set-up universal logons
between a Samba Server and a W2K SP3 DC, which has restrictanonymous=1.
I followed the procedure as described at
http://ftp.easynet.be/samba/docs/man/winbind.html
- I managed to join the Samba server (MYSAMBASRV) to the domain (MYDOMAIN)
- I used wbinfo with the -A switch to store the credentials of a

what's the impact if register sessions for the guest user
Hello all,
I set up a samba server(3.4.13) that guest has access to it. When I
run command ?net status shares parseable? on the server, it shows results
like this:
test\17358\\\pc-vincent\\Thu Aug 25 15:00:49 2011
And there?s no ip address for the client. I googled the reason and hacked
the samba source code, I found this comments in function session_claim() of

Upgrade 3.0.10 to 3.0.24 on RHEL4 - NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with an upgrade of Samba running on a Redhat4 Update 4 system. The default installation provides only 3.0.10 which doesn't include the privilege model or a number of fixes including some in 3.0.21a and 3.0.23 which it looks like we'll need.
The system runs in PDC mode with user accounts in an ldap database. On a test system which I'm using to

NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_GROUP when attempting to connect
Hi,
I'm attempting to get my server set up to share out files using Active
Directory authentication. I also have winbind set up for shell logins
to the server. That part works fine, but when I attempt to connect to a
samba share with smbclient, I get rejected with "session setup failed:
NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE".
I did some searching and found others with similar issues, and I

hey all,
I was wondering if openssh did ftp via ssl connection - or if not - what
unix package out there did this.
I'd love to use sftp, but unfortunately the site I need to interface with only has
ftp over ssl.
