2.0.5 problem with variable substitutions
I have a problem with 2.0.5 that did not happen in 2.0.4b or previous releases. I am seeing thousands of these messages in log.smb: [1999/07/20 23:44:24, 0] lib/util_str.c:string_sub(1095) ERROR: string overflow by 7 in string_sub(%M, 967) and the smbd process seems to be stuck in a tight loop. Issues after upgrade to 3.0.6 from 3.0.4; fixed in 3.0.7?
Hello, I run samba 3.0.4 on a RHL9 server. Samba is a domain member of a W2k3 ADS and I use CUPS as printing mechanism; therefore Samba is compiled with Kerberos 1.3.1-7 and cups-devel. 3.0.4 runs pretty good, printing via CUPS runs well too, only the following messages I see constantly (this flooding my logs) while using 3.0.4: winbindd.log ========= [2004/07/27 16:07:04, 1]

String overflow with random characters
Hi, I've got a problem with a 2.2.2 samba server. It has, a number of times, recorded the following lines for a short period of time of 10 seconds, and then not again for days. Has anyone seen these before? It all appears to be random characters. It has only happened from 2 machines out of 30 or so. 3.0.6 & "string overflow by 1"
I updated one of my file servers to 3.0.6, and while file serving is improved (no M$-Office file already open messages), every time I access a printer my logs flood with messages like to those below. It seems I can set printer properites, etc... but when I print the jobs seem to go to never-never land (still researching where the jobs go). [2004/08/20 08:46:27, 0]

In short: When I try to open the printer-properties of a Deskjet 1120C in MS-Work 97 the error "Word can not show the properties-dialog, because there was an error during the printing" (translated from the german message) in MS-Word 2000 the properties-dialog shows up, but although I did

3.0.21c safe_strcat string overflow w/ "net rpc share migrate files"
When migrating files off an existing Win2K file server using "net rpc share migrate files" with Samba 3.0.21c on SuSE 9.3 Pro I stumbled across a number of "string overflow by X in safe_strcat" errors on a few files with non-ASCII characters: myserver# net rpc share migrate files myshare --acls --attrs --timestamps -S win2k -U 'XXX\administrator'

browse list problems continued.
Hello, Thanks for all the help so far. I've got nmbd and smbd so they're running now, not being blocked out by my firewall however nmbd is still unable to sync browse lists with my domain master browser, which i don't have as i'm in a workgroup and i'd like samba to be the master browser. I have enabled wins support see smb.conf below. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
