Help - Samba 2.2.3a + Solaris 8 7/01 - 64 bit binaries
Hi, I have compiled Samba 2.2.3a on Solaris 8 7/01 to produce 64 bit binaries and to use the 64 bit i/o functions. The compiled code has been installed on two identical Sun Servers, the key differences between the configurations is that one has the maximum number of file descriptors set to 65000 (Solaris configured for 65356) and has op locks disabled because it is being used with Clear Case.

Fedora, Cups, print$, and Windows XP - Oh my :) Round 2 - FIGHT
Hello from Canada! I'm posting again about a problem I posted about in February, I'll repost the message here, with updated information. When I read that it was a possible/probably bug with Samba, I decided to wait a while and see if it wasn't hashed out by now. It doesn't appear to be fixed (or I messed up). Anyways, here is the information with updates. A "*" indicates

INTERNAL ERROR Report
I have read the BUGS.txt file, used 'testparm' (successfully), and run through all the steps in DIAGNOSIS.txt. I don't see any problems that those tools have identified. The BUGS.txt file indicated that INTERNAL ERROR was almost certainly the result of a bug. I'm hopeful I have sent you the information you need. Let me know if there is something more I need to send. 3.0.13 winxp pro printers offline and don't come online, but you can print to them (shorter version - no log level 10)
Friends, I have upgraded to 3.0.13 as I thought the random way in which only some printers are showing as offline on some win xp workstations, and refuse to come online, even if I use "Use Printer Online" in the properties and on the other hand on other winxp pro workstations all printers show the same behaviour, they are all offline. But even though they all show offline you can print

Fw: INTERNAL ERROR Report
I realized that my choice of options for grep did not do a very good job of including the last error message before the INTERNAL ERROR. I've included it in this email. Sorry. create_policy_hnd: ERROR: too many handles (1025) on this pipe. Dovecot dsync mail replication issues
Hi, I'm trying to set up some dsync based replication between two hosts on my network. The current topology is a single server running Postfix with a single dovecot installation with a Maildir per user (only 4 users including myself). No NFS, just local system users on ext4. I am only using system users, ie no virtual users. I am using dovecot deliver to deliver mails into the

Upgrade 3.0.24-3.fc5 to 3.0.24-4.fc5 Anomaly
As part of our deployment of FC updates we have upgraded our office server from 3.0.24-3 to 3.0.24.4. We got some strange results. Shares that have the same name as the users home directory and/or the same name as their users id became inaccessible. For example, my user id is kens, my home directory is in /home/kens and there was a share of it called kens. There is also a common share

Samba 3.0.2a+LDAP+PDC
Hi! I'm trying to get samba and LDAP work together but there is some problems. I'm using Samba 3.0.2a prebuild binaries (RH9) and openldap-2.0.27. (I've tried also to compile samba myself and the result is same) Everything goes fine, I can change password for users with smbldap-passwd, add users, delete users which are located in LDAP -directory. Everything seems to be ok. While

[LLVMdev] Usage of pointers to elements of a std::vector that might be reallocated
Right, later in the same file we have: // Reserve entries in the vector for each of the SUnits we are creating. This // ensure that reallocation of the vector won't happen, so SUnit*'s won't get // invalidated. // FIXME: Multiply by 2 because we may clone nodes during scheduling. // This is a temporary workaround.
