Win2K box and the file server are on the same switch. They are both
configured as 100FD, AutoNeg=Off. I have not met anyone so far with that
much performance difference, though some reported 1:2 speed ratio. Attached
is our config file for your information.
I've searched through this mail lists' archives. I couldn't find a solution,

Printing issue in Samba
Hello! I am a relatively new user to Samba and have run in to a snag
with printing. I have Samba set up on a SuSE 9.0 server. I had no
problems setting up shares for disk access to my Win2K boxes. I can
attach to the shares very easily. I can also see that the shares are
active from SWAT. The problem I have is with printing. I can get to the
printer over the lan and even see the que update

save plot
I made a plot, but after I made a second plot, the previous plot was
gone. How can I save all the plots in a file (I do not manually copy
and paste them one by one)?
Thanks.

Win95, sharing printers and drives
I have two computers ROLAND (RedHat 5.2 and Samba) and LINDA
(Windows95).
I am already able to print on the printer connacted to LINDA. Yesterday,
before I managed to get the printer working, I was alos able to see
ROLAND's directory 'tmp' and 'winD' on LINDA.
The problem that I saw this morning was that the printing still works
but LINDA can no longer see the shares of

about pam
Hi there,
In the description of command "pam", it mentions "For datasets larger
than (say) 200 observations". Now my dataset is a "54732 by 5" dataframe
named "test". When I try to run pam(test,4),it shows " cannot allocate
vector of length 1497768547". Is it because the row too big that it
can't handle?
Thank you!

command in survival package
Hi there,
I have a question about one command sentence when I follow the example
in the book of "Survival analysis in S":
> aml1<-aml[aml$group==1]
but I got the error warning: NULL data frame with 23 rows
Thus, I couldn't keep going on the next command:
esf.fit<-survfit(Surv(aml1,status)~1).
and also when I try

Can't validate USER@DOMAIN in Runas
I have my XP-Pro machine setup as a member of an Samba-based Domain server.
I usually run as "linda@<localmachine>", but wanted to try running a
program using "RunAs" in the "Home", DOMAIN my machine belongs to. The
runas command says:

On linux, to get 'domain\user' to resolve, I had to have
those entries in my /etc/passwd (and /etc/group for groups).
I.e. *w/o krb*, (in samba 3.x), I had entries like:

Multiple Regression with Correlation Matrix
Hello,
In SPSS, a multiple regression can be conducted by inputting the means, standard deviations, sample size, and correlation matrix without actually using the raw dataset. Is it possible to do the same in R?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

btrfsctl -A not returning useful information
[root@btrfs progs-unstable]# btrfsctl -A /dev/sdb
ioctl returns 0
[root@btrfs progs-unstable]# btrfsctl -A /dev/sdc
ioctl returns 0
/dev/sdb has a btrfs, while /dev/sdc is blank. What''s that output
supposed to mean ? Is it a bug ?

Hi All,
I am looking for a color palette like this:
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/Images/h_long_5_lg.png
I think I found out how some time ago (something like Colors[1:n]), but when
I now wanna use it, I could not remember how I did it.
Does anyone know which package I could use?
Many thanks!

how to image.plot a XY grid file into a lat-lon map
Hi All,
I have a netcdf gridded file with LCC projection. I can easily use
image.plot to visualize it. However, as the axises are in X,Y, not Lat and
Lon, I could not add state or country maps onto it (or lat lon information).
I do have a grid2d file that describes the lat and lon for each (X,Y) grid,
but the lat and lon are not regularly spaced, so I could not use image.plot.
Does anyone know
