Fw: Samba as a NT PDC
Ok. To let you know, my source was Samba Unleashed (copyright 2000). Page
343 and 344 is what told me that I needed to add itself to the entries and
to its own domain it is running.
I'll remove the entries and see how things work. Thanks for the help.
Apparently it is because the book I am using is wrong.

Roaming Profiles, My Documents and XP
Hello,
I successfully joined an XP machine to my Samba PDC.
When looking at the profile folder on the samba server for the user (which I
had to create manually. Is there a way this can be done automatically?) I
saw the My Documents folder was copied up.
I was thinking this was cool because people would have their stuff stored on
the server and wouldn't have to teach them anything

Changing passwords under Win2K/WinXP (Samba 2.2.6)
G'day all...
Has anyone had any success in achieving the above, without requiring the
user to run smbpasswd on the samba server?
On the client machine (2000 or XP) when I press ctrl-alt-del and attempt
to change the password I get the error "The User name or old password is
incorrect..."
I need to keep things as simple as possible for my users, they're not

Samba won't act as PDC
I have been tasked to be one of the main targets, er, I mean, guys to
facilitate our changeover from a rather aged Novell server to Samba.
My boss set up Samba 2.0.7 (RPM shows "samba-common-2.0.7-4" with an RPM
-q). I am trying to convert it to PDC functionality, and am having
difficulty. In the log I see this:
"smbd/password.c:authorise_login(826) rejected invalid user

[ns]mbd, sync'ing of disks, and hdparm
Hi,
I run a little router/firewall that also acts as a print server for
the linux and win98 clients on the LAN. I have the harddisk configured
so that if there is little activity, it spins down (hdparm -S 12
/dev/hda).
I added smbd/nmbd today and with the two services running, the hard
disk drive spins down but wakes up about every 12 minutes. Without the
services, only a major event causes them

Casualty Actuarial Society request for proposals for R Workshop
I'm a property-casualty actuary, use R in at my job, and lurk on the
list. In conjunction with one of its meetings, the Casualty Actuarial
Society (I'm a member) is looking for proposals from people to teach a
workshop in R and I thought members of the list might be interested.
I've pasted the information below.
My apologies if this posting violates list rules.
Thanks.

read.csv fails in R console in Ubuntu terminal but works in RStudio after R 3.6.3 upgrade to R 4.0.2
Hi,
I am trying to download some data using read.csv and it works perfectly in
RStudio and fails in the R console in the terminal in Ubuntu 18.04 after
upgrading from R 3.6.3 to 4.0.2. Before upgrading this worked in the R
console in the terminal also without any issues.
Why would that be? How to fix this?
Below please find R code output and sessionInfo().
*Works in RStudio*

IMPORTANT: LLVM.org server move complete (SVN impact please read)
LLVMers,
We have completed the move to the new server for LLVM.org. One casualty of this move was that svn.llvm.org was NOT enabled at this time.
There is a new certificate for LLVM.org and HTTPS is enabled for the website. We know of a few issues with some of the webpages but will be working them out over the next few days.
Please do not hesitate to contact llvm-admin at lists.llvm.org with
