web based vacation frontend
Hi, One customer has Centos 5 installed. He wants to have a web based frontend to the vacation program because he is in charge to enable the vacation msg for all the users in leave. I tried webmin but the webmin vacation module points to a nonexistant link. And the usermin module is very old and requires the user to do it by themselves. Suggestions? --

A little OT but hopefully still related enough... Maildir Delivered mail naming problems.
Normally I wouldn't post off topic to a mailing list, but I have posted every where else I can think of and haven't had any success yet working this out. I know there has to be a few people here with extensive knowledge of how mail works and maybe just a tip in the right direction would help me out at this point. I have migrated from mbox format to Maildir format in the last week. I

using posfix on the local LAN, with internet FQDN
Hi all, I hope someone can help me with this please. One of our clients has an in-house Postfix mailserver which basically downloads mail for the individual users from our mail server hosted on the web using fetchmail. They use our SMTP server to send mail. Their email clients are then setup to get & send mail from the server, on 192.168.2.254 (for POP3 & SMTP). All mail between them

Webmin Shorewall Patch
My description of the incorrect use of the term ''SNAT'' on the Static NAT Webmin page was apparently misunderstood. Attached is a patch against the Webmin-1.070 Shorewall module that corrects this problem and also adds the ''DNAT-'' action for rules. To apply the patch, you will need the ''patch'' utility: cd <webmin shorewall directory - on

Controlling Dovecot with Webmin
Dear Sir I have just setup a Fedora 4SE server, with Webmin - latest production release and Dovecot .99.14. The only way to start dovecot is to be logged into the server as root - locally or ssh, and type the dovecot command. >From Webmin - logged in as ROOT, when I attempt to start Dovecot it tells me that it can't because it can not open the config file - permission denied. Webmin module
Hi on the download site for asterisk, there is one directory called webmin and I presume that this contains a webmin module for Asterisk, yet this doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere. Is this unfinished work in progress? typically webmin modules are in form of .wbm packages that can be installed using webmin itself, but I couldn't find any such module in the webmin directory nor

Update on Using Dovecot with Webmin
First of all thanks for the replies. I have decided to try the updated version 1.0 alpha After uninstalling Dovecot .99 and cleaning up user, groups and files. (Dovecot .99 was authenticating as best I can tell using unix users = the default -- and PAM = the default - I only had to setup the PAM if I remember correctly. Loaded Dovecot 1.0, made sure user, folders and files all seem to be

SELinux question - to fix bug in Webmin
I found a bug in Webmin when using Webmin with SELinux in Permissive Mode. The author of Webmin, asked me, in their bug tracker on SourceForge: > Ok, thanks ... I see the problem. Webmin opens the log file > /var/webmin/miniserv.error and connects STDERR to it, then runs other > commands like iptables, which inherits the STDERR file descriptor. > This is generally a good thing, as any

Webmin and Redirect
I''m having problems using shorewall webmin module and Redirect rules. Webmin module does NOT accept the symbol ! in the field "Destination address for DNAT or REDIRECT". bind + chroot + webmin
Hi all, I just read about some kind of bug regarding webmin not being able to work with bind if chroot is enabled. Webmin was working fine for me until I chose to update it, and then the bug showed (running Centos 6.2 BTW). So the fix was to disable chroot in the webmin bind module config, seems counter intuitive. Any one mind sharing some nuggets on this? I'm working with bind via cli no

Configuring File Server via Webmin
Hello: I have set up samba and webmin on my Mandrake 9.2 system (P4 1.7GHz, 512Mb RAM, 60G HD). My windows clients can see the shared folders but are prompted for a password when trying to access the share. 1. How do I set a password in Webmin? 2. Can I nest directories that I create in Webmin for Samba use? (e.g., a folder for projects that when clicked contains folders for years or client

Help with Webmin Module
Hello People I''m new here, so forgive-me for any "newbie talk". My client is running Debian Sarge (Stable), with Shorewall and Webmin. I want to make things easier for them and tried to use the webmin-shorewall module. The thing is - the installed shorewall is 3.0.5 (package from testing) but the webmin module only understands (and builds) the old shorewall 2.x file
