Julian's patches
There are couple of excellent patches available from
http://www.ssi.bg/~ja for advance routing,load balancing,link-failover
etc.
Any idea why these patches are not yet integrated into the upstream kernel?
Thanks

Sharing out unix home directory via samba
Hello
Sharing out unix home directory via samba. Home directory is /home/%
username% . However, samba insists on sharing this directory as /home/%
domain%/%username% . So a user can see their home directory as server
%username% from windows. But, when they click on it, they get an error
and the samba log says that the share /home/%domain%/%username% doesn't
exist.
Thanks

transfer to Microsoft Distributed File Service
Hi, list:
Usually, "//server_name/share" is passed to smbclient to do a transfer. However, in case of filing repositores using MS DFS, can smbclient be passed "//domain_name/dfs_share/share_link"? I guess not.
Looking forward to clarification,

How to view djvu files?
Greetings to everyone!
On Fedora I used to use djvulibre package for djvu files, but I cannot seem to find this in any CentOS repositores out there. Google also does not help, nor searching list archives. :-(
I have found the .rpm file for RHEL 4, but when I tried to install it (hoping that it just might work) rpm refused to install with the error:
file /usr/share/mimelnk/image/x-djvu.desktop

MySQL repositores
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Are there any repositories for CentOS 5.5 that keep the latest MySQL
versions?
After enabling everything I can think off (CentOS, rpmforge, epel), I'm
still only seeing 5.0.77-4.el5_5.4.
5.5 came out yesterday and 5.1 has been around for a while.
I don't want to manually install from the mysql site for obvious reasons.

p-val issue for ranked two-group test
Hi-
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with my code. I'm coming up dry
when I try to get a p-value from the following code. If I make a
histogram of my resampled distribution, I find the difference between
by groups to be significant. I've ranked the data since I have
outliers in one of my groups.
mange= c(35, 60, 81, 158, 89, 130, 90, 38, 119, 137, 52, 30,

File Permissions
Hello
I trying to grasp the file permissions on Linux. I have Samba installed
and functioning properly...
I think I understand perimission in this environment with one exception:
I need to add more than one group to a file/folder. With Windows..the
security tab would allow any number of Groups and each group could have
different permissions. (As well with files and subdirectories). With

DB Modelling the Rails way - Opinions??
Hi,
I''m trying to figure the most efficient way to model the following. I
can think of at least two ways to relate the tables but from a
client/server perspective! I''m wondering how to best (and
elegantly)relate them from an AR perspective.
A project has many people,
A person can work on many projects at any time,
A project has many roles,
A role is performed by a person,

UID/GID Issues with Samba in ADS mode with Winbind
Hello
I am seeing an issue where Winbind is not keeping it's UID/GID
mappings. For how long does the mapping stay in effect? Is this
mapping effected by reboots or server restarts? Will an AD user get the
same UID/GID every time? Is there a way we can ensure that the UID/GIDs
stick between login/logouts, etc.
Thanks

Samba4 replication PDC/BDC Status
Dear all, I set up a samba4 dc (S1; provisioned) on a physical machine
and a second samba4(S2) on another machine. S2 wa set up without
provisioning by replication. Users, groups are well replicated and show up
on both DCs. But when I stop S1 my win-clients can logon( I think only
cached) but the shares on S2 are not accesible. Error no DC available.
Starting S1 again all shares on S2 work well.
