samba and/or DAV
while looking for a solution for webbased access to our samba-servers
I found a recommendation towards using DAV instead.
I just took a first glance at DAV (www.webdav.org) and find it very
interesting.
Are there any documentes comparing these two strategies in intranet
and internet (speed, reliability ...)
I would also be greatly interested if anyone here uses DAV to allow
roaming users to

Audit Trail/Logging For Network Logons and Logoffs
Hi Folks,
I have searched the archives and the web for this issue, but I haven't found
an answer.
I need to be able to log or audit the network access of our network users.
This information needs to be used in conjuction with a time and attendance
punch clock.
I have seen much discussion of using preexec and postexec for obtaining a
network access log. However, my testing has shown this as

systemd automount of cifs share hangs
Running latest CentOS 7.5. Since I found out about automount unit files
I've had mixed results using them to mount shares from my NAS. Lately they
seem to hang if I touch the mount point, but I can start the mount unit
without problems. I had it working months ago, so I'm thinking something
changed in the systemd updates.
For each mount point, I have two files in /etc/systemd/system

public facts repository
Hello all,
I have set up a public svn repository with some facts that we have
written over time:
https://svn.ikw.uni-osnabrueck.de/dav/ikwadmin/public/puppet/facts/
(yes, it is svn).
Now, I was wondering where to document this on the puppet-wiki (or
should it rather be the facter-wiki)
http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/tags/facter%2Crecipe does not
give any clear hint on this. Maybe I

res_calendar & LetsEncrypt
Everybody,
For a while now, I've had a small home Asterisk setup to connect to my
Zimbra mail server's calendar. Making an entry on the calendar would
cause Asterisk to schedule a wakeup call at the time of the calendar entry.
The Zimbra mail server uses LetsEncrypt for the SSL Certs and renews
every 60 days. On the Asterisk side of things, if I do not restart the
Asterisk process,

Add grid lines to levelplot
I'm using the levelplot function in the lattice package. I am plotting a
grid of cells and I want grid lines drawn between cells. I've spent a lot of
time trying different options. I've also looked at panel.levelplot. The
border parameter seems to be ignored or it doesn't mean cell border color.
The panel.levelplot calls grid.rect but forces lwd=1e-5 instead the passed
lwd. On

Outlook Web Access behind shorewall firewall doesn''t work
Hello,
I have a MS Exchange (small business server) that was just upgraded to
2003, behind a bering (shorewall) firewall. OWA is experiencing the
issues described in the following technet article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;280823
OWA displays Loading, and does not display properly. I am already
running over https. (ports 80 and 443 are DNATed to the server).

Incorrect behavior for ordering timepoints in "reshape" (PR#7669)
Full_Name: Dav Clark
Version: 2.0.1
OS: OS X 10.3
Submission from: (NULL) (128.122.87.35)
When the timepoints that reshape uses (in direction="long") are negative or
fractional, the time label is assigned incorrectly. It is easier to give an
example than to describe the problem abstractly:
Assume you have a data.frame header with values related to peri-stimulus time

What am I missing
Hello,
I am looking at the shorewall, and so far I like what I see, but I have
one question.
I installed the firewall with, zones: fw, loc, net and work.
Where the work zone is a VPN zone to my work intranet
The policy file is the default policy file, with the added policy to
accept connections from fw to net, i.e. it contains
work loc ACCEPT
loc work ACCEPT

Indexing multi-dimensional table
I want to take slices of a multi-dimensional table (or array) without
knowing the number of dimensions in advance.
As a test I tried using (in this example a 3d table):
do.call(`[`, list(tbl, x,NULL,NULL)]
where I built the list on the fly. It works great as long as I only want the
first dimension however when I try a different dimension, say with
list(tbl,NULL,x,NULL), I get

SVN and Rails problem
Hi guys,
I''ve finally managed to get my server up and running with
mongrel_cluster and all that jazz. My rails app works fine, but when I
try to access my svn repos as I was doing before everything was setup
rail is giving me a 404.
What can I add to my httpd.conf to prevent this? Here''s a snip from my
httpd.conf relating to the domain:
