Corel Draw 4 can't find fonts
I now have almost all my Windows programs running fine under codeweavers wine 20010112-1 except Corel Draw 4 (16-bit), which seems to work fine except it cannot find any fonts except the symbol typeface it ships with. I have tried starting it from .../windows/fonts and from its home directory but nothing changes its behavior. Must I install TT fonts on my Linux system for Corel Draw to find them

Samba 3 problems with file read/writes
I just updated my web server box, running Debian testing, to samba v3, and am having some problems with a share. Can anyone advise me on this? I have a share called "allsrvr" which is defined in my smb.conf file as follows. Please note that security isn't an issue here. The server is connected to my home system via a VPN and all smb/cifs ports are closed to the world at the

Registry, HKEY, CONFIGDIR CorelDraw problems
Hello Wine experts. I am trying to get CorelDraw 7.0 to work under wine, and I have successfully installed the program, but when I attempt to run it, I get the following dialogue error message: Key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Corel\CORELDRAW\7.0" Value: "ConfigDir" not found in the Registry. Along with this error message, comes the exciting output displayed below, that is

Quickbooks Pro works on Corel Wine
Quickbooks Pro works Purrrrrfectly on Corel Wine. It looks good, works good and prints good. The only caveat is that when it is running, you cannot launch Wordperfect as well - it is an either or situation. Cheers, Herman http://www.AerospaceSoftware.com Aerospace Software Ltd. Corel heritage applications
I understand that the applications that Corel release for Linux are WinXX apps tweaked to run under Wine. I have no problem with that, but it makes me wonder what success has been achieved running Corel Win apps. Sure beats upgrading if they still do the job you want. The applications that interest me are: WordPerfect version 7.0.2.19 Quatro Pro version 7.0.2.14 Corel Ventura

Printing in Corel Draw through CUPS
10/10/2007 After consulting with some local Linux consultants, we have concluded that Corel Draw does not print under WINE because it detects the printer as Postscript, converts the file to Postscript, and sends the file to CUPS, which then converts the file to Postscript, again, and sends it to the printer which prints garbage. The consultant found a way to make a couple changes to WINE

Wine + Windows Partition + Registry
I have a windows partition (XP), with a few applications I'd like to run on it while in BSD: Microsoft Office XP (for the occasional doc that OO doesn't like) Corel Photopaint 9 or X3 Trillian (not needed but would be nice) and a few games. The games run fine, pretty much like in windows, but they have fewer directx errors and crashes :-) Office gets annoyed when I open winword.exe in

Internal Error 2352
Hi guys I downloaded and compiled the latest Wine verson and I got the following error msg from the Windoes Installer. The installer wizard fired up properly, asked a few questions and started to copy the application out when it returned an internal error 2352. Below is from the msievent.log. My .wine/config is the standard conf except for minor adjustment to /mnt/floppy and /mnt/cdrom.

winehq's wine vs Corel wine
Some times I read people claimming that some applications run well (or installs well) with Corel's wine but not with winehq's wine. As Corel is dead for almost a year (IIRC), is there something in Corel's wine that it is not on the official wine? If it is, what is it? why isn't it in winehq's wine? license? design? Or the people who make this kind of claim are (no

Strange problem with 3.0.4
Dear list, I recently updated my servers from 3.0.2 to 3.0.4. After that upgrade I discover a strange problem: I can mount/browse/whatever shares with Windows Explorer, MSIE, Firefox ... but I cannot use a mounted share with Macromedia Homesite. I can't see anything in my logs, I allways get a "Connection refused. Maybe you are not authorized to use this share."-message. I

[Fwd: Re: Dead keyboard]
Later... Well, I found that when wine installed Windows, it did not install the "standard" fonts, like Ariel or Times. So when I copied them to the wine version of Windows, the "hunt for fonts" was reduced to two... and I know which they are, so eventually... Anyway, that problem cleared up. But one more thing. I now start the program from the terminal with two lines of

Updating WordPerfect Office
The version of Wine that ships with WPOffice 9 is getting pretty creaky. As far as I can tell, Corel doesn't have any updates on their site, but as far as I know there's no reason that someone couldn't update their version. Anyone have any luck with this? I'm still trying to reproduce their build parameters. -- | I'm old enough that I don't have to pretend to be grown
