Re: Linux EXT3 support? problems flushing?
Paul, I don't know if this helps but I'm running RH7.2 on ext3 with Samba 2.2.1a & Quotas, I haven't heard any users complain yet, (300 total users). I don't believe any of them are using Outlook though, but they are using the Samba for their Groupwise MailArchive. Hope this helps... -Dusty > -----Original Message----- > From: Gerald Carter

Experimental support for regedit.exe
FYI... If anyone is interested, i just finished implementing supporting for exporting printer & printer driver information stored in the various tdb's via the registry RPC routines. This code has been checked into HEAD already. I'm not planning on including it in any 2.2 bug fix releases, but thought some people might be curious to try it out. My main intent for implementing this

AW: duplex settings [ was Re: parsing fix for spoolss & s amba-2.2.5]
Hi, We are using samba2.2.6pre2 and still have the problem with the printer duplex/tray settings like in samba2.2.5 (although the duplex/tray options are configured on samba, they are not correctly set to w2k clients) Does anybody know why? Thanks for any tip. Khiem -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: Gerald Carter [mailto:jerry@samba.org] Gesendet: Mittwoch, 28. August 2002 06:11 An: Glen

AW: duplex settings [ was Re: parsing fix for spoolss & s amba-2.2.5]
Hi Jerry, It seems that the "samba-2.2.5-printing.patch" has only fixed the problem for PCL drivers. With PS drivers (Laserjet 4050 PS) are the duplex & tray settings still missing. FW: Unable to validate owner sid.
Hi, I havn't herd anything more about this but i have been doing some reading up on winbindd. It appears that i cant use this anyway as it only works on Linux at the moment and i'm using Solaris (Is this correct?). I have now removed winbindd my configuration. I'm still unsure about how to tell if its the domain SID or the SID of the box. Cheers Tom -----Original Message-----

Auth. failing - Update - NSSwitch
Thank you Andrew, you pointed me in the right direction. Part of what I m doing to try to get Netatalk to authenticate through Winbind was the following: 4) to install Winbind files: cp nsswitch/libnss_winbind.so /lib # this is the major one - solaris nss is different to linux. ln -s libnss_winbind.so nss_winbind.so.1 cp nsswitch/pam_winbind.so /lib/security Once I deleted /lib/libnss_winbind.so

SOLVED! PDC and BDC with LDAP and Samba 2.2.4
It's me again, with the solution to my problems. To get a working BDC, you have to kill samba, delete your secrets.tdb, create a MACHINE.SID and then restart samba. You will have to do this on the PDC and the BDC to have the same SID the the secrets.tdb file. Then machine account are valid even if you move your PDC, or you add a 2nd BDC, as long as you create the MACHINE.SID file before the

Hi Jerry, Thank you for this statement! ... the problem in the last days/weeks was, no infos from the team members! It is no big problem if something is not working. But, if we are making tests and reports bugs/problems and so on ... And no one from the team give a answer ! This will make us crazy, too. You and all of the team members make a great job! ... we will see us in Goettingen!

patch to configure.in for Solaris/gcc (-KPIC vs. -fPIC)
To Solaris admins.... Here's a patch for 2.2.4 for building on Solaris using GCC. You'll need to rerun autoconf after applying.... The second patch removes compiler warnings about redefinitions of ZERO_STRUCT. Now winbind should compile on solaris quietly. cheers, jerry --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hewlett-Packard

Printing Patches for 2.2.4 (roll-up)
Here's a rollup patch for most of the printing fixes in SAMBA_2_2. Issues fixed are * change notification never gets called on a SetPrinter() * alignment bug in marshalling PRINTER_INFO_2 causes problems viewing printer properties from win2k/XP clients * devmode unmarshalling bug causes ACT! 2000 on 2k client to fail to print Enjoy. Feedback welcome if this fixes (or does

patch for 2.2.5 and check for start_tls with OpenLDAP 2.0.x libs
FYI.... There is a bu in the configure script for 2.2.5 that prevents the script from locating the start_tls function in the OpenLDAP 2.0.x libs. Apply this patch and rerun autoconf. Should fix it. Patches configure.in and passdb/pdb_ldap.c Sorry for the inconvience. cheers, jerry --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hewlett-Packard

However, I still have the problem that the presence of things such as additional paper trays/duplex units etc is forgotten by applications (but is remembered when I go to the printer preferences through printers share/printers in control panel). problems. I think it is an alignment issue in the EnumPrinterDataEx() reply from smbd. I'm working on this today. The syptoms seems to come and go (depending on the length of various printer data fields obviously). Should have a fix by Monday. cheers, jerry --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hewlett-Packard
