Samba/Cups Newbie question...
Hi, I think that this is more a Samba query than a Cups one, as far as I can tell from the documentation anyway... I am running samba-2.2.5-1 and cups-1.1.16, I have these installed and working correctly... I have 50+ PC's (mixture of WinNT, Win2k, WinXP and Win9x/ME) printing to 6 queues on the server, 5 of these are RAW queues printing via lpd and ipp, and the other is a socket

Strange problem, seems to be authentication related...
Hi, I have Samba 2.2.5-1 which we use in conjunction with cups (v1.1.16) to run a print server, one of the clients that uses the shared printers has a strange problem, it's a windows 2000 system which after it has been running for a while, sometimes days, sometimes hours, it will lose it's ability to print, different application and printers return different errors but the are all related

Samba. DR-DOS and Terabytes...
Hi, We have just built a server with a terabyte of storage for a powerquest deploycenter file server, the deploycenter boot disks start Caldera DR-DOS 7.02 for the actual deploycenter software to run under. We run Linux 7.3 with the samba that ships with that version (sorry, I can't remember off hand and don't have access to a linux box right now) The problem I have is that the

Changing IP address in LInux does not change IP address for WINS registration
Hi I have my samba server (redhat) configured to use an external wins server. Each time samba starts up, it registers its netbios name with the wins server. So far so good. Then we wanted to deploy the samba box to a new location and new IP address. We changed the ip address in Linux in /etc/hosts, /etc/sysconfig/network & /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0. When samba restarts

Feature request: Allow remote hostname token for User option
Is there a specific reason the %h token isn't available to the User option? I'm trying to configure my local ssh_config to connect to remote systems through a CyberArk PSM proxy and it functions by taking several connection parameters for the downstream destination as username elements. One of those needed elements is the remote host, which is available on %h, but that can't be

Anyone run * on OS X ?
With the 1U Apple G5 server at a good reliability/storage/pricepoint level... got to thinking about compiling Asterisk on OS X.. at least for SIP phone call switching, voicemail, etc. Has anybody attempted this? Email me off list if this is too dev-heavy for the user list. Thanks, Ted W -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-request@lists.digium.com

Solaris 10 Samba Configuration
Help, I am having a terrible time configuring Samba on a Solaris 10 server. Seems like I did this years ago with a Solaris 2.6 server and it was nothing to configure. Basically, I have a Solaris 10 U9 server that I'm trying to configure with one filesystem as a public file share. I am trying to connect to it from a Windows 2003 R2 server. I can see the server when I connect to \\SERVERNAME

In client.conf If have set the cups server FDQN used at work ServerName servprint.lmy.lab.fr But when I'm at home if I do not comment this line with: # ServerName servprint.lmy.lab.fr cups freeze as soon as I try to print something on my local home printer as the remote server is unreachable. This seams to be an old 2012 bug

Digium FXO Card
Hi, I wish to know if GNUGk can work with * running as a gateway with the Digium FXO card. Kindly share your experiences in case there are some issues which one must know before going in for such a setup. Also, I've been reading about the DialTone detection capability by the hardware in different countries. What are the issues with it? Thanks & Regards, Deepak ----- Original Message

Dear All user, Hello, I'm a student and I have some trouble with the experimental (columns-experiments) design of my project. I use a randomized block design with 4 treatments including a control. Roaming profiles and USRMGR.EXE
I'm using Samba 3.0.22 on Ubuntu 6.06.1 as PDC for our Windows workstations. The passdb backend is tdbsam. I want to employ roaming profiles and due to the fact that we have a mixed Windows environment (Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP Pro) I have the following entry in my smb.conf: logon path = \\%L\profiles\%U\%a Basically, this works fine. If a user is working on a W2k workstation, his

Nut not working remotely
Hello everyone. I have NUT up and running on three servers, and I can reach one of the servers from the other two, but two of the servers refuse the connection when I try to get the UPS information remotely. I've looked and looked, but I can't see what I've missed on the other two. From any of the three servers I can issue the command: `upsc <servername>@localhost` This

Difficulty with terminal properly displaying help function in an ESS remote session
Hi all, I'm logging into a Debian server and running R remotely using ESS. The steps I use to do this are below (pasted from my webpage). However, we're having a problem whenever we want to use the help function, e.g., ?hist The remote buffer gives a warning: "WARNING: terminal is not fully functional - (press RETURN)" At this point we can't get back to our normal R
