Print share using hpoj.
Hello all.
The set up: - Kernel 2.4.18-3
- HP Office Jet K80.
- USB port
- hpoj-0.8 driver
I've been struggling installing and configuring the new driver for Linux/USB printing, due to a couple of silly mistakes.
The question here is are there any differences in setting up a print server using this new driver than the usual

[OT] spa3000 (Regional & Line1) NL settings required
Dear all,
Can someone from Netherlands who has SPA3000 send me the Regional & Line1
settings.
I'm not sure what is wrong but I can call from asterisk to phone attached to
spa300 FXO, but not the other way. I tested three phones: siemens gigaset,
tiptel 160 and hpoj k80(fax). Only tiptel 160 can call to the asterisk,
other two just dial but nothing happens. I guess this has something with

Samba & XP PRO
Please forgive is this has been posted, but without a good search
function the archives are hard to search.
Have a home network - two laptops XP PRO, one Linux RH 7.3 and one NT
box. All in the workgroup named workgroup.
I would like to rid myself of the NT box as all it does is spool a
printer and a USB Hard drive for backup purposes.

yum remove <old kernel pkgs> -- wants to remove a ton of stuff
I've got a Centos 4 box at work, where I noticed a pile of old kernels
lying around and no longer needed.
I did "rpm -qa | grep -y kernel > list" then edited the list to remove
from it the newer kernels, then "yum remove `cat list`". Yum has come
up with a list of 71 packages it wants to remove, even though there
were only 33 kernel-related RPMs in the list. this

Printing:using usb port.
Hello All.
Thanks for the help so far. I've managed to get the 'access denied' error to disappear with the suggestion of 'use client driver = yes'. This worked, Thanks.
By the way, I'm running Samba 2.2.3a
I'm still not printing though. I removed the printers I configured using 'printconf-tui' and added a new local printer device, using /dev/usb. This was

for some time I used a HP 2840 AiO device, connected via LAN, to scan

Win2K. Raw CUPS printing, driver download
Using Debian Sarge, samba, CUPS, and an HP G85 mutifunction with HPOJ
to use the G85 USB connection, I've been able to get raw printing to
work, and Point 'n' Print driver download to work, but not at the same
time.
The driver download was a chore, because of HP's proprietary install
program. Had to install the driver locally to get the needed files
and copy them manually to the

CentOS: scanning
Hi!
I've been using v.-4.4 since last Oct, and I'm quite satisfied, *except*
for *one* thing: I can't scan! Both kooka and xsane report "no devices
available." That doesn't affect printing, but every time I have to scan
something, I've to go back to Mandriva or Ubuntu.
I've had this HP psc-2410 for a couple of years. I scanned successfully

samba3, network printing, additional problems
Hello,
First of all my thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I'm still
having an issue getting this network printer going. I'm now getting a
windows error from explorer.exe, i've checked all the windows system,
application, and security logs and of course the error is not in them. I
then turned samba's debug level to 10, reloaded it and tried again to
access the printer. This

Letter printing in samba
Hi,
I have a samba server (Ubuntu 5.04) with Laserjet 3300 and drivers hpoj.
Windows computers prints using the samba server. (By the way, windows
computers can print but windows says when u click on printer icon that
"Access Denied")
The problem is the WIndows computers only can print in A4. They cant
print any other sizes, like letters.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Can I use Wine to Run the Scan Function of a HP Officejet 4215?
Hello,
I have been trying to use the scan function of my HP Officejet 4215
by invoking sane. And that is not working. As an alternative, I hope I
could run Wine as Windows XP and read in the HP cd that came with my
printer to setup the printer and the scan function. Right now the
printer works. It prints, copies, scans (using HP Director) and faxes
and scan under Windows XP. Under

Print Properties will not open on a Samba shared printer
I finally got my drivers to upload to the print$ share by using the add_print_package.pl script form imprints, and I was able to attach the driver to the printer created with SWAT (the rpc command: addprinter does not work) by using the rpc command: setdriver. So at this point whenever I connect a client to the machine it no longer asks about trying to find a driver. However when I go to open the
