wbinfo -u responds with Error looking up domain users
Hi all, I have an Samba + LDAP PDC and BDC setup with a trust to an NT 4 domain. I am using Samba 3.0.21c on Sles 9. HRH is the Samba domain and Hendricks is the NT4 domain. When using getent passwd and/or wbinfo -u on the pdc all of the users from both domains are listed: getent passwd: <snip>HRH users: njcloud:x:1034:1014:System User:/home/njcloud:/bin/bash acrardi:x:1035:513:System

Samba 3 dms doesn't allow access through interdomain trust
Hello everyone! I have a little problem: HRH = trusted domain (Samba 3) Hendricks = trusting domain (NT4 sp6a) Trusts are setup between the NT4 and Samba3 + OpenLDAP domain and appear to be working properly. When logged into the HRH domain on a W2k workstation I can view,read, and write on available shares for HRH groups and users on our Windows file servers. Whenever I try to see available

question on why Rigroup package moved to Archive on CRAN
Hi, Who should I ask about my package Rigroup_0.83 being moved to Archive status on CRAN and no longer available via install.package? I have no problems with the move if this was simply because of low demand. However, if there was a build issue with the newest releases that caused problems, I would be happy to address it. I'll just ask my students to install it from my own locally hosted

How to override $::operatingsystem fact
Hi, I want to introduce "Proxmox" as new value in $::operatingsystem. "Proxmox" is based on Debian, so the normal value is currently "Debian". To change that, I just write a custom fact based on the facter fact "operatingsystem" Facter.add(:operatingsystem) do > ... > setcode do > ... > elsif

$operatingsystem variable.
In the documentation, there is an example such as this: case $operatingsystem { sunos: { include solaris } # apply the solaris class redhat: { include redhat } # apply the redhat class default: { include generic } # apply the generic class } I''ve seen the $operatingsystem variable used elsewhere. What actually puts the value into the $operatingsystem variable? Does

Relationships between models.
Hi All, I think Im having a mental block here. For some reason I just cant get my head round relationships. What I have is the following. 4 tables 1) Hosts 2) Software 3) OperatingSystem 4) Company In my terms (which are most likely wrong) a company can have lots of hosts, a host has lots of software, a host has one operating system. So should my models have the following relations in them?

Remaster CentOS from source
Hello, I was curious if there were any documentation available on how to remaster CentOS from srpms (as in to recreate the process from RHEL srpms) to create a derivative distro. This is only for educational purposes to better understand the process. Thank you for your time.

Lets focus into the zipped file provider that should provide a common method to pack or unpack zipped files (tar, tar.gz,

win2000 and samba
Hi, We have a samba server 2.2.4 in a RH 6.2 Linux system. I should say that the samba server is working well except for a win2000 workstation. For this win2000, the user can mount network drive to the samba server, e.g. H: to \\sambaserver\username, it asks the password, if entered correctly. it is connected. No problem at all. However, if the user reboots the win2000, the poblem comes.

Problem joing a W2KSP1 client to a Samba PDC (2.2.5).
Hi, I'am running a small samba server at work with 10+ users in the domain (all of them added with W2KSP1 and 2.2.3 or 2.2.4). I uppgraded to 2.2.5 a while back and has not experienced any problem with it, but when I try to add a newly installed W2KSP1 client to the domain I get the following entries in the log file: Sep 10 13:29:55 linus smbd[17681]: [2002/09/10 13:29:55, 0]
