ps2pdf "Print command" script trouble
hi
2.2.5, Sol 2.8
I have a perl script that I've written to convert a ps file to pdf file.
I want the user to be able to setup a
postscript printer in WNT/2k and convert ps files to pdf by printing to
a [ps2pdf] printer share.
[ps2pdf]
comment = PS to PDF file in Home Directory
path = /usr/spool/public
guest ok = Yes
print ok = Yes

2.2.5, Sol 2.8, W2k - Printers...Status: Access Denied unable to connect - ??
hi
When I highlight a printer icon in Win 2K, the Status bar shows
Status: Access Denied, Unable to connect.
It shows this for all samba printers.
I can print a test page even though it shows access denied.
Anyone know how to fix this?
thanks.

2.2.5 on SOL 8 - deleted folder reappears
I'm using Samba 2.2.5 on Solairis 8. I have a problem with W2k and WXP
clients.
I have a folder, in a share, that is protected against deletion by a
non-root user. I tested this in the unix environment
to ensure the permissions were setup correctly. If an NT4/W9x client
attempts to delete this folder, an access denied
message is displayed. However, if a W2k or Wxp client attempts to delete

Re: (2.2.5) Does AUTO PRINTER DRIVERS work - definitive statement please (Trevor Fraser)
Hi
(Samba 225, Sol 2.8)
Well.....for anyone that's interested..
I decided to try the printer upload/download support in 225.
So far I've been inconsistently able to upload and download drivers.
When uploading, sometimes I'll get
the message described in the HOW-TO docs and when I do it seems to
upload OK. But then when I attempt
to install the printer on a client, I get prompted

Question regarding Recycle
Hi Anders,
Mason, can you share your security settings on .../Top/Home? I might have

Anders, I have an unusual setup using nested shares, where \\fs1\Top is the
parent share, which corresponds to the POSIX path /srv/samba/Top/ and
multiple nested shares setup similarly to \\fs1\Home at
/srv/samba/Top/Home/. I chose to use nested shares

SAMBA AD VFS:Recycle bad permissions
Hello dancers,
I upgraded SAMBA to version 4.9 in three little companies. Then we have
found an error with permissions, on shared discs where is VFS:recycle
enabled, new created folders seem to be ok, but new files are writable
only from owner. Getfacl gets back mask r-- so effective rights are
changed. Shared discs without VFS:recycle work fine, and if I disable

SAMBA AD VFS:Recycle bad permissions
Good morning,
I have tried upgrade SAMBA to version 4.10.4 and my error still exists.
New created file has mask limited perrmisions if VFS:recycle module is
activated for share. If module is off, rights for new files works
corectly. I have it on 3 servers with Samba 4.10 and 4.9, one server
withj 4.8 works properly.
any ideas?

Samba 2.2.5 Recycle Bin file permissions
Using Samba 2.2.5 on FreeBSD 4.5.
We have a file share used by several people working on common projects.
The share is set up with
force group = cad
create mask = 0774
force create mode = 0774
directory mask = 0775
force directory mode = 0775
so that everyone can create/modify any file in the share.
The new VFS recycle bin, however, sets the file

Typo in Wiki
Dear All
Found a missing c in recyle should be recycle on the Wiki-page:

Doing this will turn off the default vfs objects |dfs_samba4| and

Question regarding Recycle
Hi

The Document share recycle works. Folder was created and the

Recycle Bin On Share
Rowland,
How exactly does this command work?
recycle:repository = .recycle/%U
Does the command create user folders with '.recycle' sub folders?

config-file for recycle bin
I make a recycle bin as follow:
config-file = /etc/samba/recycle.conf
vfs object = recycle
recycle:subdir_mode = 0770
recycle:keeptree = Yes
recycle:repository = Recycle Bin

But testparm shows:

What could be the problem and the solution?

Samba recycle bin excludedir doesn't work for me
Hello,
I'm testing the "recycle: excludedir" option of Samba recycle bin but
for some reason every deleted file is sent to the recycle bin, even
those in excluded paths. Using samba/focal-updates,now

This is the config for that share:

Samba 2.2.5 - RECYCLE BIN (VFS) problem
Hello Folks,
can somebody give me detailed instructions for compiling the
VFS-recycle bin-extension for samba 2.2.5? I tried it, already RTFM,
but it didn't work. I don't know in which path I have to put the files from
the /example directory to compile it correctly (newbie prob?!).
Are there any further ./configure options I have to use?
I'm running FreeBSD 4.5. You could even send me
