Samba or Cups-Problem ?
Hi, I'm using some kind of pseudo printer on our samba server to automatically produce PDF files. The smb.conf looks like this (the samba server is successfully conteced to an ADS): [global] workgroup = ADS netbios name = pc103.ads.local realm = ADS.LOCAL security = ADS password server = win2ksrv.ads.local log level = 2 winbind

PDF printer and wiidows driver auto-download.
Hello =) I got some problem configuring a pdf printer and make windows to download automagically drivers from [print$] share on my samba 3.0.1 server. Well, I've configured a pdf printer (based on this doc: http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue72/bright.html), tested it and it works pretty well =) To install the printer on windows side, I connect to the host, browse to samba server, right-click

/contains a filesystem with errors check forced
I have been running samba for nearly two years with no problems on RH 7.0. I have one now. I've only had this occur once so I'm not to familiar with the solution, yet I know it is a simple one because I have resolved this before. (Repair filesystem) 1# What is the correct response to render a solution to this. -------------- next part -------------- HTML attachment scrubbed and

Printing with CUPS and PDF
Trying to get one Samba server to serve several printers through CUPS and host a virtual PDF "printer" at the same time. I've gotten them working separately, but not together, and I think I know why. In the smb.conf man page under "print command": "With printing = cups, and if SAMBA is compiled against libcups, any manually set print command will be ignored."

Hai Koenraad, Just a suggest, what about and email adres to create your pdf files. thats what im doing here. like companypaper at domain.tld , which generates from excel doc etc to a pdf file with companypaper. or plain at domain.tld same as above but no company logo. or multipdf at domain.tld merge mutiple pdf files to 1. ( or multiple doc/xls files ) and this is much faster for us

Modified Cups Backed pdf writer to keep the original document name.
Hi All, I've got a samba/cups pdf writer going thanks to PeteFwee and Wolfram Q and a few others... the cups pdf backed i used has a default of username-date.pdf which I didn't like and wanted the name of the job that got send in the printer q on the winslows client. The only way I could see in my very limited experience was to grab the %%Title out of the postscript file and make sure

Ubuntu packages for 0.9.18 and .19 broken?
Hi :) I'm having enormous probs with the Budgetdedicated APT repo on Ubuntu dapper... 0.9.17 works a treat, but 0.9.18 and 0.9.19 immediately call the debugger on /any/ app, even winecfg + /usr/bin/notepad.. I've tried deleting my .wine dir, and always ensure there is no wineserver hanging around, but always to the same end effect: gdh@plip:~$ rm -r .wine gdh@plip:~$ notepad wine:

Can't setup Windows Print Driver on Samba 3 Server
Hi, I'm trying to store a windows print driver on a samba 3 server (which is sharing a pseudo PDF printer) so that windows users in the domain can automatically have it installed (rather than having to choose a driver from their computer manually). I've tried the methods outlined in the samba howto but I can't get either of them to work. The one where you use a windows machine to

CallerID when transferring calls.
If extension 101 calls 102 and user 102 hits # and then 103, the caller ID of 103's phone says 102. I've been looking for a way to have 103's Caller ID show the person that is being transferred not the person transferring. So if my receptionist answers the phone and transfers it to one of my techs, I want my techs phone to display the caller ID of the person who called the

Digium G729 licensing - is it worth the trouble?
I have been impressed with the quality and meagre bandwidth of the G729 codec from Digium. I am in a testing phase of our roll out, we are using 5 Asterisk PBXs in various countries to provide connectivity for our employees, owners and family. As we are testing, and our setup is somewhat complex due to the peculiarities of our connectivity, there has had to be a lot of changes to servers, cards to

pdf documents do not print from windows client on samba/cups print server
Hello, I have unsuccessfully been trying to find a solution for the following problem: Since a couple of months I have been running a openldap / cups 1.1.17 / samba 2.2.8a server setup with which I am extremely happy. But lately after installing an existing HP 4050 laserjet printer in cups and samba (with cupsaddsmb and the cups windows drivers), pdf documents will not print on this

app_sql_postgres gone in 1.4
Hi, I'm putting together a system to manage agents with Realtime, and without chan_agent. In 1.2.13, there's a handy (although marked as deprecated in apps/Makefile) PGSQL application to let me do this: macro queue-addremove(queuename,penalty) { switch(${MACRO_EXTEN:0:1}) { case I: // Login PGSQL(Connect connid host=XXX user=XXX password=XXX

simple steps with sieve
Today is my first day with sieve, so be gentle :) I'm trying to set up a pretty webmail interface to our Dovecot 1.2.4 server using roundcube. The managesieve config + roundcube 'managesieve' plugin work fine, and I'm able to use roundcube's UI to generate .dovecot.sieve files. We use winbind + LDAP lookups to do some exotic mail rewriting... ultimately user.name at domain.com
