Automatic Printer Driver Download Access Denied
Hi, I have a problem for implementing automatic printer driver download on Samba 2.2.7a. When I tried to upload printer drivers from a Windows 2000 client, I could see the printers were uploaded to the printer driver directory W32X86 under Unix. However, When I tried to apply those changes to the printer driver, I got ?printer settings could not be saved, Access is denied?. The samba is

Drivers are stored in the print$ share. Under this share there are 5 folders, each for a different architecture. Under these folders may be some subfolders (e.g. print$\W32X86 has folder "2" and "3" under it). The client goes to install a shared printer and will access these folders and pull out the appropriate file. Drivers are added likewise by going to the shared printer,

"Printer settings couldn't be saved. Access is denied" problem on Samba 2.2.6
Hi Samba gurus, I need your help for the problem of denying the change of the print driver settings on samba. I have no any clue of this problem. Thanks for any comments and tips. Our institution has a windows 2000 active directory domain; I joined my test samba 2.2.6 on a Linux box into domain as the file/print member server. All the file sharing worked fine, but when I tried to upload

download.file() yields incomplete files with method="internal" (PR#7991)
Summary: When I use method="wget" with download.file(), I consistently get a download of the entire file. When I use method="internal", I infrequently get the entire file, but usually get only part of the file. This behavior occurs with .cdf (a weather file format - basically binary) from a UCAR site. I am not sure this is a bug, since it could be some internet

generic/method consistency
Hi, I realize the answer is very likely in the section Generic functions and methods (or Adding new generics), but I'm not clear what to do with the following. Running R CMD check, I get the following warnings for my generic functions. Does this mean I need the argument * checking generic/method consistency ... WARNING leps: function(x, ...) leps.default: function(x, pred, titl,

W9x doesn't download printer drivers
My W9x clients cannot download printer driver from samba 3.0.2rc1 with cups 1.1.17, while w2k clients do. The W9x clients open the Add Printer Wizard, connect to print$ share, request the ADOBEPS4.DRV file, but they stop at the beginning of the download. Permissions on print$\WINNT\0 directory are the same as print$\W32X86\2. cupsaddsmb was successful. I sniffed the packets while client was

Automatic Printer Driver Downloading - Does it work?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has gotten automatic printer driver downloading to work? The problem I'm seeing here is while trying to upload a printer driver to the Samba print server using Windows 2000 or XP. The Add Printer Driver Wizard runs ok until I click on the Finish button, then it requires a Windows 2000 Advanced Server CD-ROM to be installed, to get a driver out of the

Samba+CUPS+Driver autodownload
Hi, I'm trying to get Samba to offer the Adobe driver automatically for the two printers I have set up with CUPS. I have all of the necessary files plucked out of the Adobe Postscript Windows driver package, but I'm hitting the problem when I come to run "cupsaddsmb -v ..." that the "rpcclient adddrivers" command always fails with NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL. The drivers

Problems adding print drivers
Hey folks. I am trying to set up a cups/samba printer server, and I am having trouble using cupsaddsmb. I isolated the problem to a rpcclient and here is the information I gathered from the various commands. If I delete all the files in "/var/lib/samba/drivers" cupsaddsmb installs the folders and files, but doesn't move the files in to the WIN40/0 folder with the adddriver

Samba+CUPS+Drivers autodownload
Hi Matt, the problem you referred to is discussed in detail as bug #82 in Samba's bug tracking tool. It consists of 2 bugs. One prevents the registration of drivers and is due to a NULL-pointer passed from that part of code in rpc_server/srv_spoolss_nt.c which calls sys_adminlog function. It begins with the comment /* BEGIN_ADMIN_LOG */ and ends with the comment /* END_ADMIN_LOG */
