Samba corrupting files
Hi all,
We use samba here at our site as an interop solution for use with ClearCase.
I'm afraid I'm just a lowly ClearCase administrator not a Unix
administrator.
All our solaris servers are running Solaris 8 and we're using Samba version
2.2.2
First Question :
Our Unix Admin guy has said that we can't upgrade our version of Samba as
2.2.2 is the latest version that Sun have

problems with samba samba-3.5.10-125.el6.x86_64 on 2.6.32-279.14.1.el6.x86_64
Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right eMail-list to ask questions. I have
the problem that with a second connect to a samba share the user is
authenticated as guest. The first authentication was right done on my
own user account.
What i am doing wrong ?

"@" doesn't work in the NT domain name
I am part of a large worldwide Active Directory and all of our individual
site NT domain names have an ampersand symbol in them
(for example: VWS@ROCHESTER) Samba 2.2.6pre2 and older won't join this
domain name, or allow connections to it from users in this domain. The
logs state that the domain name is "VWS_ROCHESTER", the code is squashing
the @ to an _ causing all

Problema en lectura de datos. Memoria insuficiente
Buenos días
Estoy intentando leer una base de datos correspondiente al World Values
Survey desde 1981 a 2014. Contiene variables por columnas, y observaciones
correspondientes a individuos

set working directory
I have just upgraded from rw1081 to rw1090 (using Windows 2000).
Now when I type the command:
> setwd('d:/folder_name)
I get the following error message:
Error in setwd(dir) : cannot change working directory
If I use the "change dir" tab in the file menu i can sucessfully change
working directories, but this is not so convenient as i have my whole model
stored as a text file

writing a dovecot plugin / segfault
Hi together,
I am new to this list and new to dovecot itself. I have to write a plugin that implements some ACL-voodoo to be used instead of the standard ACL stuff of dovecot (it shall allow just application-driven folder-sharing - no more, no less).
Though I started programming with C, my last experiences are some days old, but now I have written the function sekeletons and the registration

Can't sync mailbox XXX: Mailbox isn't selectable
Hi,
I have users with file system folders, which contain mbox files and
dovecot indexes, in the ~/mail directory.
If I run dsync, I have an error message and the sync can not be completed:
Can't sync mailbox FOLDER_NAME: Mailbox isn't selectable
I could not find any solution via google or any hint what to do in this
situation. Thanks for your help and suggestion,

Unable to set ACLs using Windows Security Dialog Box
Hi,
I configured Samba to act as a file server on RHEL4, Samba 3.0.10.
Everything worked as I expected except owning issue.
If an NT user created a folder on the share, it was getting its owner and
changing
"Owner Group" from "root" to "Domain Users".
I wanted to keep "Owner" and "Owning Group" through newly created folders as
well as subfolders.
