-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, Everyone -- How can I create a custom printer form for use on the printers shared by Samba? I tried to add a printer form via the "Server Properties" gizmo from a Win2k Pro client, but I get "Form formname could not be added. Operation could not be completed." When I do an enumforms <printername> via rpcclient to

job fails to print via samba 2.2.6-pre1 - lpd ASCII a nd postscript test works fine...
Ah, it appears that I have confused myself... I indeed have ALL of the queues defined as JetDirect with the model specific driver selected in printconf. With this combination I am telling linux to modify the job [via the filter] and then pass it as a RAW [jetdirect] where I SHOULD just have the queue define as JetDirect with a RAW as the driver and let the job go as transmitted by the client

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello! I'm running into an issue where users log into their Win2k/NT4.0 workstations, download their profiles off of our Samba 2.2.5 server, map home, miscellaneous shares, and printers on it, and then randomly during their session they cannot open these remote devices. They receive an "Access Denied" message when trying to do anything

Dlink DVG-1120s and Asterisk
I friend gave me his DVG-1120s after he realized that AT&Ts callVantage stuff would not work for him. It appears to be running a SIP version of firmware, however, it downloads an XML configuration file via SSL from AT&T. I cannot find a way to manually configure the VOIP portion of the unit via the GUI. I contacted D-Link to get an example configuration file so I could get it working

MultiMarkdown 2.0.b5 Released
I have released version 2.0.b5 of MultiMarkdown today. As always, it can be downloaded from: <http://files.fletcherpenney.net/MultiMarkdown.zip> Some of the changes include: * spaces at end of xslt filenames won't cause failure * use `\url{}` for "non-referenced" url's in LaTeX to allow linebreaks (though they still don't always break correctly --- this is a

smbd uses 10 to 15% CPU w/Vista client
For quite awhile I've noticed that smbd uses 10-15% of my CPU (Pentium 4) when nothing visible is going on. I have a couple of laptops on my home network, and some experiments showing that powering on the Vista laptop (other is OSX) is sufficient to raise useage from 0 to 10-15%. The screen is locked, although 2 user accounts are logged in. Wireshark seems to show a lot of chatter,

LNP Problems
What is the deal with "CSR's"? TWTelecom is telling me that I can't port a number to their service without a Customer Service Record. Apparently this is easy with Verizon, and not so easy with some other companies. Basically I'm at a brick wall with a couple of ports because TWTelecom is telling me I HAVE to get a CSR and certain other providers (Time Warner Cable for

GT710 and Nouveau on ARM/ARM64
The most common issue on arm is that the pci memory window is too narrow to allocate all the BARs. Can you see if there are messages in the kernel to that effect? Hi Seeing as we (Raspberry Pi) have just launched the Compute Module 4 with an exposed PCIe x1 lane, people are asking about adding graphics cards. Seeing as you are the people who have the knowledge with regard to NVidia and nouveau, what are your immediate thoughts of nouveau working on ARM/ARM64? Is there a chance of this working? I'm no PCIe expert, although I can call on some expertise
