Filename character translation
Hi, I came across the problem with rsync-2.5.5 on Cygwin/Win2K while rsyncing with filenames which have 'strange' (non latin-1) characters in filenames. The problem is that filenames on Windows system are coded (in our case) in codepage 852, while server (Linux system) has filename coding according to ISO-8859-2. This two are not fully compatible, causing rsync to simply skip copying some

Where discuss VFS issues
What's the right list to discuss all sorts of VFS questions, like api documentation, implementation issues, examples, configure/make integration. I think this interface has a (very) lot of potetials. It could even become as powerfull as the module concept of apache, and I think I've some usefull ideas. cu Birk

domain name vs ip address causes refresh problem and lowercase vs capitol folder names - how to fix refresh issue?
I have Samba 3.022 and have run into a curious problem - when I access my shared folders over the internet using Windows XP, I get different behavior whether I put the domain name (e.g. \\mydomain.com) versus if I put my direct ip address in (e.g. \\12.34.56.78) when accessing my shares. First, the first screen listing all the shares is in all caps when using the domain name but in lowercase when

asterisk queues in off-hook mode ?
Hi, I am looking to configure asterisk queues in off-hook mode, that is, the agent calls into the system and stays connected to this call, when new customer calls, he is redirected to the queue which should distribute to connected agents. is this possible on teh actual app_queue or we would need to implement it using ARI. Thanks in advance.

odd behavior when multiplying data frame by an element
could someone explain what is happening below ? I was trying to solve a related question on the list and then , as I was solving it, I was getting strange answers and then I noticed below. Using color and plotting characters in a scatterplot matrix [Newbie Help]
Hello guys, I have this data set that I imported into R using a line: This data set consists of 7 columns. The two important columns are the first one called 'thrust' and the last one called 'amtemp'. jet<-read.table("jetthrust.txt", fill=T, head=T) I am making a scatterplot matrix simply using the line "pairs(jet)" The problem is that in the last

keep color range constant across three persp() graphs
Hi All. I have created two, 3-D, color graphs using persp(). Z values range from 1 to 100 on the first plot, and 0.5 to 50 on the second plot. I would like to keep the color range constant between the two graphs, rather than each graph showing the full range of colors. So the first graph should go from yellow to red and the second graph should go from yellow to orange. Below I present a

latticeExtra tileplot question - tiles are not all the same size, need help.
Hello, I have been creating many tileplots to try and illustrate the relative abundance of fish through space and time. My issue is that the tiles that border the plot are smaller than those in the center of the plot. In the example I've provided the effect is pretty minor (I'm hoping this will be an adequate example as I had the code already created/data uploaded). However, I have other

Trouble with Samba, SCO & HP Jet Direct
I've just installed an HP Jet Direct Network Print Server and configured our SCO 5.0.2 box to print to it. I can send anything to it as long it's from the Unix side. Then I configured Samba to share the printer and tried sending a test page from one of the NT workstations but nothing came out and I could find no error messages in the log files (even at debug level 9)! The log file just
