When configuring samba PDC to use slave ldap, it seems parameter ldap replication sleep did not work, setting any value did not make any different. I have samba PDC and slave/master ldap connected over fast-ethernet switch, ldap replication take less than 2 seconds, however when adding (XP) machine to domain it gives error " The username could not be found". Samba 3.0 beta 3 issues
Hi there, I'm using Samba 3.0 beta 3 on RH 9 (connecting to a Windows 2000 domain, as a member server) and I'm having trouble keeping samba running reliably. At random times it seems to stop recognising names from the domain. Restarting winbind fixes the problem, but then it occurs randomly again, usually once or twice a day. At least once it has fixed itself after being broken overnight

Samba stops working on HP-UX 11
I've had a consistent problem with Samba from 2.2.1 onwards, maybe even before then, I'm not sure when it started. Anyway, Samba will randomly stop responding to any requests, although it usually occurs after transfering large amounts of data (1 GB+). To get around the problem, I've been restarting samba every night, but we still have the problem occasionally. smbclient shows:
