Cronjob / .rb help clearing session table (new to cronjobs)
I just launched my first ROR app and i need to implement the session
database cleanup. I am new to cronjobs. I have used one once but it
was all copy/paste.
I was hoping someone knew of a good tutorial or resource to get started
here or might be able to give me a little help.
I have seen a lot of posts that reference setting a cron job to clear
old sessions but I am not clear on:

segmentation fault
Dear Samba org.
I have a problem when mounting a windows drive into my linux server, I have
samba 2.2.3a and kernel 2.4.18 with SuSE 8.0
The problem I have is that I get a "segmentation fault" message when I try
to access some windows directories, after that samba gets frozen and I cant
kill the process (looks to me it keeps running an endless cycle). This
wasn't a problem with

Problems installing & using SAMBA 1.9.18p3
Hi all,
First of all I am running (SunOS 5.5.1 Generic May 1996).
My questions are about the Makefile.
(1) Line 145 - WHICH OPERATING SYSTEM?
If I uncomment one of the lines, what variable must I use.
(2) If I don't uncomment the above then I get an error when running make.

Auto mapping to windows home drives?
This could be quite simple but I don't know how to do it.
Does anyone know how I can automatically mount a users home drive (which is
located on a windows server) when they log in? Is there a pam module for
that?
Thanks very much,
Sapan

Samba4 with AD + Linux ACL's - permission problem
Hi experts,
I have a Samba4/AD scenario which is driving me crazy.
On some servers, I have the same volume mounted on /share. I am using some
different servers as gateways to export this content using HTTP, NFS, FTP
and CIFS. AD authentication is a must.
On the Linux machine where Samba is running, I have joined it to the domain
using PBIS (domainjoin-cli join [DomainName [DomainAccount]).

Slow browsing through Windows Explorer
Hello,
I'm having a very strange problem with Samba version 2.2.7a. I have four
boxes, Two Linux Mandrake Boxes (Morpheus and Unreal both v. 9.2), One
RedHat (Link v. 8.0) and an XP Workstation (Kek XP Pro NO SP1).
When I bring up My computer (Explorer) and attempt to browse through the H:
drive (SMB Share mapped to Users Home dir on Morpheus), Y: drive (SMB Share

Active Directory join, stages, and AD accounts issues
I have a mostly working set of modules to replace our kickstart and
about a dozen scripts.
I am having issues with attempting to populate my AD account-owned
user folders in the initial puppet run. The machines i am testing
with are all CentOS 5.5 so far.
I have defined 3 additional stages,
Stage [init] -> Stage [pre] -> Stage [main] -> Stage [post]
to attempt to fix this to no avail.

(Un)Locking shared DOS application
Hi,
for some time now I'm trying to create the best environment/solve a
sharing conflict around a DOS application (Clippered dBase I suscpect)
that one of our clients is using and distributing over about 20 Sun
450's on a shared service 'servershare'.
On every Sun there are multiple Windows 95 clients connected to diverse
shares amongst which this 'servershare'.

Q: Ideal print setup on Solaris (2.6)
Hello there,
We want to improve the way we initially setup printing on a farm of
about 20 Solaris 2.6 servers, in a way that all the possibillities of
printing are well impelmented and usable. Right now users can't delete
jobs when they are queued onto the (Samba)server and (of course, because
it's configured now like that- see example) every printer's job list
appears in the same

Server patching DC stopped working
Hello,
I have been running Samba4 on a Ubuntu 12.10 for a few months.
Using this setup script,
I have also been using PBIS (Open-wise 7.1) to connect Linux clients to
it. I have has this setup for serveral months.
Now if I connect to a windows computer I get access denied and it still
works on linux via PBIS.
If I login to the windows computer with a local account, I can

Samba 4.17 Cannot join Win7 clients to domain
Hi Davor,
most of the domain accounts were part of an old NT4 domain. I did a
classicupgrade.
Your theory with the NTUSER.DAT-files seemed so promising, unfortunately
that was not it. I created new accounts on an XP machine and a Win7 machine
and tried to join with them, but still receive the same error. One of the
machines I'm not able to join with, wasn't even part of the domain

Samba 4.17 Cannot join Win7 clients to domain
Hi Davor,
I finally found it! After going through
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Joining_a_Windows_Client_to_a_Domain , I
checked the time settings on said clients and they differed from the AD DC
too much. This also explains why some clients could join after a
while...they synchronised with a NTP server after a day or so and then I
was able to join.
After that, joining the rest of clients was

Patch -- SVN revision in the version string
This is the patch to include SVN revision level in version number displays.
There should be two enclosures; the patch itself and a new source file.
common/upsversion.c.
upversion.c defines a single function. upsversion(), that returns a version
string for display. Some Makefile trickery ensures that this file will
be recompiled whenever the project's SVN revision level has changed since
