LDAP Domain Trust
I have a small problem. I'm an LDAP newbie, and am having trouble getting
Samba to authenticate. What I have is an LDAP tree, with the samba.schema
loaded in out LDAP configuration. I already tested smb.conf without
ldap-sam compiled in, and it authenticates just fine to smbpasswd and
locally added machine trust accounts.

[LLVMdev] GCC 3.4.1 and conflicting types for 'malloc' (2)
I commented this line and it is compiling now:
extern void *malloc ARGS((unsigned));
I hope that will not cause a different kind of problem. What it is zalloc used for?
Thanks

Yes, sorry for not mentioning it. I added that header also
Although I suppose that if I am not using Sparc there will be no problem (it's an Itanium 2
machine)
Thanks

A different Win98 password problem
I can not get a laptop to running Win98 to mount samba shares on a Linux
box, and I don't think it's the normal encrypted password problem. Here's
the setup:
Linux box has a class B ethernet connection to the internet and a class C
connection to the laptop.

printing with lprng
I recently set up samba-2.2.3a on FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE. I'm having
troubles getting printing to work. I have LPRng-3.76 installed, and it
works just fine using the command line tools. When I print from a
windows client over smb, however, I can see the job go into the spool
directory, but then it magically vanishes, with nothing in any log
files. Has anyone experienced this type of strange

Hi folks,
From my RedHat Linux box Im using

I can get the list of shares on every single Linux or Win9X machines in
the network but I cannot obtain the list of shares on Win2000 and Win NT
machines.
Here is what I tried:

further problems with OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 on RH 6.2
I'm finding another problem with OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 on RH 6.2 (at least,
I think it's the linux box that is the problem).
I'm ssh'ing to a RH 6.2 box from a Solaris 7 server (scp also... seems
like the same problem).
I'm using authorized_keys and identity.pub files to do it automagically,
and all works well when it's from user to user, where the username is the
same, but if

Samba clients can't see partitions mounted via loop device from image files
Is there something special about filesystems mounted via
the loop device, which prevents Samba from sharing them?
I have a small LAN with several PCs on it. It has a
few Windows machines, and a Linux machine running
Mandrake 10 (kernel 2.6.3), which shares out its root
("/") read-only as "c".
(Temporarily, for testing, it is shared with full write
permissions, which I know

sensitive but Windows/Samba is not case sensitive...
therefore Samba will see 'Michael' as 'michael' and

I'm sorry for this long post, but I think there is a real understanding
problem for many people on ADS domain membership.
I'm not the first to post about this type of problem, however I didn't find
an answer to it in the archives and I followed the HOWTO-collection.
Well, this is what I'm doing :

using feature from applicationmap while ringing in queue
Hello fellow asterisk users,
I'm trying to use feature application defined in application map.
it's defined as follows:
lbxvml => 1,self/caller,Macro,Jump2Voicemail
It's working properly when called party answers the call, but I'd
like to have feature usable while call is still ringing in queue
but this just does not work..
Is this a bug or feature? Is there a way to have
