Hi, there is a "X" value for the acount flags in smbpasswd ... it means no password expiry! I found it on passdb/passdb.c. If it work?s, maybe I don?t no! Also the password expire time ist hard coded in passwd.c too ... set to infinity. Take a look at the passwd.c code! 2.2.3a printing problems: no printing from Word, spools taking up all CPU on clients
I'm running Samba-2.2.3a plus the printer defaults patch (samba-2.2.3a-5mdk rpm) on a Linux 2.4.(Mandrake 8.X). This server has been upgraded from 2.2.3, from 2.2.2, which was upgraded from 2.2.1. Everything was working with the same printer configuration at version 2.2.2 and 2.2.1 (although I have moved the WINS server from a new machine since then). The server is a PDC/WINS server, and

Samba 2.2.3a, print queue status "opening,"highserver load
Printing from NT4.0 clients to Samba 2.2.3a using the NT4.0 drivers from HP works fine for me, my only problem has been with W2K clients using the W2K drivers from HP. The drivers from www.hp.com appear to be level 3 drivers, that is where they install, and they are downloaded by W2K drivers if they are available when the NT4.0 drivers are also available. Now, whether these drivers from HP are

IP Binding
Hi all, New to Samba here so please bear with dumb questions. I have a server that's currently running SMB shares off of device 10.0.0.1 on a private network. It has a second device, 10.0.0.2 that I would like to add to the device bindings for Samba. I've tried this in the smb.conf file but it doesn't seem to work. Here's what I tried: workgroup = SOMECOMPANY netbios

Samba 3 Password Ageing and History
Hello, I've been looking at Samba 3.0 with a view to an eventual upgrade to help us meet some new security requirements. I've downloaded and compiled the source on the target machine. A test user account has been created and stored using a tdb file. I have set and verified the following using pdbedit: minimum password age 60 (seconds) maximum password age 3600 (seconds)

Roaming Profiles with Samba PDC
I have been working on this problem for quite some time now and have not been able to find the solution. I have Samba running on Debian Linux 3.0 (Woody) as a primary domain controller. From my Windows 2000 desktop I am able to browse that Linux server with Windows Explorer. My biggest problem is trying to log in to that domain. Under Windows 2000 I am able to join the domain (sjmlinux) but

BUG: File locking and SMBmv
I suspect I've found a bug buried somewhere deep inside the SMBmv code; I have an application, Archicad, which will not allow you to file->save over the top of an existing file, unless you happen to be the (unix) owner of that file. Unix permissions are mode 664, users can otherwise manipulate the files as expected. I've attempted various combinations/ permutations of

The Windows NT Server (RAS) is joining to the domain but the users who trying to make a dial-in connection receive a message saying that they not have permission to make a dial in connection. Must I

Expire plugin - where to start?
I'm running Dovecot 1.1.3 on FreeBSD 7.0 with procmail 3.22 sorting the output of Spamassassin. Just for me and a few friends. I didn't like the ageing 'standard' IMAP implementation so I thought I'd give Dovecot a try and it's really impressive. However, I'm a complete newbie to its inner workings. Spamassassin is able to find plenty to chew on so the "Probable

No different than "BR_FDB_STATIC", which is a bug I'm aware of and intend to fix in net-next when I get the time (together with all the other combinations enabled by the bridge). Entry has ageing disabled, but
